I find that when I'm in a crappy mood I can turn it around by doing a few things:
1) Stop thinking about whatever I'm thinking about.
Chances are good that if I'm in a crappy, pissy mood, it's because I'm not letting something go and am just continually fretting over it. To consciously stop is an important step.
2) Think about something that always makes me laugh or feel happy.
This is probably where most comments will go, because most everybody has something that always cheers them up. I typically remember scenes from my favorite cartoons, from the classic Ren & Stimpy to the surreal 12 oz. Mouse.
3) Refresh you perspective.
Some people might not get this, or actually find it depressing, but if I'm in a bad mood it helps me to remember that I'm small. I'm a tiny person in a big world in an immeasurable universe. I'll try to picture myself and wherever I am from high up, and realize I'm like an ant, with many ant-people milling around with me.
...So, what makes you happy? What do you do when you're in a funk?
