I give a very sigh-like 'Ahh' the first moment, after that, if it is not severe (Like broken bones) I move on with my day. Heck, I am sometimes stupid enough to finish my day even if I damage myself pretty badly.

But yeah, it's a moment of realization, then trying to ignore the pain as much as possible.

Well it really depends. I can *feel* even the slightest pain right away, like evolution intended. But then I stubbornly refuse to acknowledge it needs any attention because I'm too afraid of human interaction to 'bother' an ER or MD...

This nearly killed me when I put up with bacteria in my pre-frontal cavity crushing my brains for three days before going to the ER. The pain had kept me up for three straight days, the doctor said it was the worst pain you can feel (the brain very, very being slowly crushed). If I'd arrived half an hour later not even emergency surgery would've saved me. And this was two years after I limped around on a severe hipbone problem for 18 days that nearly left me in a wheelchair for life :O

I like to think I'm pretty stoic, but then I haven't really experienced any serious pain so there's no way to know for sure.
