Last time I needed an all-nighter I drank four litres of energy drink and just lay in bed all night twitching after getting everything done. Water will help keep you up, but as you probably want to stay focused, ration the coffee/caffeine to one every couple of hours.

I have procrastinated myself into a corner (Yet again) and I have a completely sleepless night ahead of me, FUCK! Oh well no matter, I have the willpower and a glass of water to keep me going....

So I was wondering, because you are all so good at meeting deadlines as well :)3) how do you stay up?

Through sheer willpower? Energy drinks? Caffeine pills etc? :3
... You wanna stay awake? I understand you have something due, but you know what would be better then staying awake and passing out every time your teacher says "According to researchers...", you could just, claim to be sick that day and turn it in the next day?

OT: When I need to stay awake, I just browse the web. That doesn't help me do my work, but it has kept me awake.
no lectures tomorrow, just more time in the library doing yet again, more work >.>
Then yes, I would claim Sick, and work on the thing all the sick day, and turn it in the next day. Unless your in one of those places that doesn't ever take work in late ever.

I'm not one for taking risks, especially when it's critical to my future, anyways, I must return to my word documents. :3

Willpower usually. If it gets really bad, then coffee or energy drinks. My neighbour in dorms takes energy pills, which I don't think I want to touch, seeing what they do to him.

Still, normally my iron-hard will keeps me aw-zzzzzzzzz...

I never really feel sleepy (except when I wake up, inexplicably), so I just go to sleep whenever I can be bothered.

I usually just go into a deep, brooding depression. Results in me getting 4 hours of sleep (if I'm lucky.)

When things are less sucky, Rockstar's my drink of choice, although those 5 hour energy shots work pretty well as well.

I've never had to do an all-nighter but when i've been literally incapable of keeping my eyes open, porn. The arousal snaps me right out of sleepy mode.

Willpower I guess, but by default I don't sleep much, maybe 4 hours a day, but I do make sure to sleep every day, because that one time I didn't sleep for 5 days I was hallucinating and though granted that time I hadn't eaten anything either, I really don't want to be like that anymore, it's not really pleasant, and besides passing out for 2 whole days is weird, but anyway I just walk around in circles every once in a while when I don't want to sleep and that's about enough.

Yeah... Porn is good at keeping you awake, as bad as it sounds. Music actually seems to make me sleepy so I wont suggest that.

You could always see if you can get your adrenaline pumping! Jump out of a window or something. Maybe eat a baby.

Coffee Mostly, but I drink maybe 2 - 3 cups for the night, not more. Usually I also listen to Beirut, somehow their music keeps my brain focused and doesn't distract me too much. Between cups I drink water. Too much Coke and/or energy drinks tend to make me feel bad. First time I did exams for university I started to late and decided to do an all nighter and drank 2 liters of red bull. I could feel my heart pumping, not good.

What I have to do though is disconnect my wireless as well; if I leave it on i tend to spend the night on the net instead of doing what I was supposed to do. Like i'm doing now :/

And when I need a break I play the piano or watch a 20 min episode of something.

I euh... have to agree. Even though I don't watch porn anymore, it did help at staying awake for some reason.

For me I try to stay away from Cola and coffee and such things as I find they tend to make you feel worse in the end. I usually put something on the computer or TV that ive seen before but I still find moderately entertaining. For me thats things like Top Gear or House or something.

Because youre listening it keeps your brain engaged but its not too distracing from work as you know what happens in the show. My ten pence worth.

Maybe it's the shame mixed with the arousal that keeps you awake.

Prescription Adderall is how I usually stay awake, for school-related projects, as I am prescribed it. Adderall and willpower has let me stay awake for over 72 hours before (and man was that fun).

Otherwise, I tend to drink (lots of) energy drinks when just staying up with friends for gaming purposes. NOS is my favorite (and also has a SHIT TON of energy stuff compared to, say, Monster). The old AMP is my second-favorite, though the new AMP tastes like cough syrup.

When I feel myself start to get tired, I just stop being tired and be awesome instead.

(Note that being awesome, as per usual, involves coffee)

The best way to stay awake is to pay a visit to the Creepy Thread or the Creepy Pasta Wiki. That's what keeps me up... What, just me?

If you really must drink something try cold water, with ice if you have any. If I've had a bad night, at work I chew on ice cubes to keep myself awake. I've also heard that you can keep yourself awake by licking the roof of your mouth when you get tired, must be something to do with the weird sensation it gives.

Coffee or energy drinks and if that isn't enough go for a 30 minute jog/walk. Keeps you awake and clears your head.

Willpower alone. I havn't had any energy drink since 2005 I used to but when I stopped drinking them I found I had as much energy as I need, and also I go through bouts of hyperactivity which can help as long I can stay focused on the task at hand.
