I'm 45 years old. I play more games now than I did when I was a teen and I play co-op with a guy in college. I like new and older music. What tells me that I'm not young anymore is the grey in my beard.

I am 28, so I am not super old, but it made me think...

Have I got to the top of the hill? Is it now but a long slide down into my 30s? Or is it just a natural progression of age? I like quite pubs, can't handle so much drink, hangovers take longer to go away...etc etc.
You will ask yourself those questions more times in the coming years.

@40 I sometimes wonder "am I over the hill?" or "am i old?" then it occurs to me.. Hell NO!! Its those that think I am are just young. but then you see teens that think 30, 40, and 50 is old and you just have to laugh off the niavete. but still fun to tell em "wait till you get to my age you little shit."

I got there the day after my 22nd bday that was last year. Went to work and see all the kids who are younger than me working there.
Also, the new music sounds crap, kids are out of controll with the drinking and playing
loud music on the busses and trains and street. They dont know how to wear pants.

Damn, i could go on all day long.

Also, older people treat me more as an equal nowdays as well. And that is a welcomed change.
And you need to shave often because your beard is growing quite fast.

You can either go by one's age in years or by how they find themselves. Frankly, I sometimes have the mentality of "that age" even though I'm only 21. I think a lot of it has to do with how quickly societal values and what not are changing. It really has nothing to do with age anymore and more with things changing too quickly.

When I mention Ducktales, others regard it with nostalgia.

When I think of Thomas the Tank Engine, it reminds narration by George Carlin or Ringo Starr.

"Disney" evokes a mental image of every movie they made between 1970 and 2000, not Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

When one use to be with 'it', but they changed what 'it' is, and now what is 'it', seems weird and scary. To quote Grandpa Simpson.

I was talking to my father today on the phone. He is in his late 60's. Going strong. Anyway, I mentioned (ranting) to him that some teenagers were being rowdy and a bit aggressive; playing music on their phones and well, I guess being teenagers, when my father stopped me mid-sentence and said:

'It has happened son, you finally reached it. You now are that 'age' were you remember things being better in your day'.

Quite a poignant statement from my father as last week I was at a wedding. I was the only one in my late twenties. The rest of the crowd were in their 50-60s or 14-19 bracket. I had to sit at the 'young table' and I tell you, I was quite confused and a bit out of place. The younger people just kept looking at me like some sort of old wizard. Didn't help when I mentioned I use to have a pair of high tops when I was ten, before some of them were born....

I am 28, so I am not super old, but it made me think...

I won't feel young anymore when I worry about erectile dysfunction and about how onions make me have bad gas. That's what old people worry about, right?

I to am 28 and I feel your pain.

Things that make me feel old:

New music that is alien to me.

A large proportion of the people on The Escapist.

People who like pokemon/power rangers. I was slightly to old for them so they have become a benchmark for me feeling old.

The fact I am listening to music that I was listening to well over a decade ago.

People considering the nineties "retro".

Finding someone ten years younger than me attractive (please remember I am 28 before you call the police).

"Growing up" with a hidden littlewoods catalogue (underwear section in a clothing catalogue) when 'young people' today learn about sex via two girls one cup!

Owning a VHS player and original 'grey brick' Gameboy.

The fact I am at this moment procrastinating when I should be writing a presentation for my masters disserttation/thesis on American Beauty, a film I saw just under twelve years ago!

For me I can tell every time when a website ask you for your age. Every year it takes just a "little" bit longer.

You're not "young" anymore when you start playing bills.

That doesn't mean you're "old", however.

I'm currently 21, I hit that point in my life when I started feeling old... MANY years ago.

Reasons?
Heart condition, back-aches, migraines, bad hearing, bad short-term memory.. Well, the list goes on but you get the idea.. I'm older than my actual age suggests.

Yesterday actually, me and my girlfriend were at a shopping centre and deciding on a place to eat. I said I didn't want to eat at a place she suggested because it was 'full of fucking teenagers', which made her laugh and joke that I was a grumpy old man. I'm 27 and my girlfriend is 36.

when its snowing outside and instead of thinking how good that is, you think "this is going to cause some transportation issues"

When you can no longer beat your child/someone younger then you in a contest of skill?

or when you lose a fight to someone younger then you. fortunately, I have yet to lose.
