How do you think Brutal Legend will do?

With Sequels coming around every corner now in the end of the year, does this new title stand a chance?
Will it be able to compete with the sales of Arkham Asylum, or will it be in the bottom with Tim Schafers previus game, Psychonauts?

Personally, I don't think it will sell that well. It looks way to goofy and unserius, and even though most at the escapist likes that, there are still quite some people who perfer their games with grey or brwon graphics and realism, hence why Arkham Asylum was so popular(Well maybe it's not that realistic, but you get the idea).

Also, the fact that Jack Black is in it might turn some people of purchasing it.

Gameplay wise I think it will be a hit though. It's a mix of basic hack'n slash and the electro guitarr, with the turn based combat of Overlord.
It was actually the gameplay that got me interessted in this game, and although I won't be buying it (Sorry, Uncharted 2 is on my list of priorities right now) I'd still take any chance I got to play it.

It stands a chance. It's not anything flashy and it certainly won't set the world on fire, but the cast of characters and the fact it is the scenario I dream up many nights (liking metal myself), it will sell.

It looks good and probaly be realy fun to play but i'm just have like 4-5 games I want to buy more, mabey when it's mark down then i'll get it. Yes i'm cheap.

It has sufficient hype to do pretty well, but it's not going to be a Best-Seller I don't think. I wasn't even considering buying it until I played the demo a few days back. It's really quite a fun game.

It's way too good to do well commercially. People will just buy stale games like MW2, Aion, and ODST.

I think apart from the music and humour it looks really...awful
I think it's going to be a dull and generic hack and slash

Good luck though to the developers with it, I think it will do well

kind of worried about the same myself. I loved the humor in the demo, and the voice acting (as much as I believe jack black is closer to the chimp family than anything), but I I was bored with the hack and slash....before the demo was over, and I enjoy hack and slash games!!

Anyone else got the same feeling?

At first I thought it looked dumb. Then I tried the demo last week and actually really enjoyed the game. But it may have just moved itself up to a rental in my list, kind of afraid that there wont be any unlockable abilities as you progress through the game and that its the same hack n slash through the end
