What I do is, I get my starter, and train and power train up until the first gym leader, battling wild Pokemon over and over until I'm a high level.

After I beat the gym, I begin training my new ones I've caught, and keep my starter back while I train the new ones.

mine too! I always hated how oak said "your pokemon seem to really like you!"

they shouldn't! I trained them until they physically collapsed only to heal them and repeat the process. Pokemon aren't my friends they are the means in which I become the very best like no one ever was.

In my game, Oak's grandson didn't get past the introduction.

After strangling his Charmander to death with it's own tail, I then ordered my Bulbasaur to brutally murder the owner.

I pretty much run around in the grass to get a random encounter and battle it while trying not to switch out unless my Pokemon is taken a beating. Once it level up I switch it out for another Pokemon in my team and repeat (I do go back to the centre to heal when needed). I like to keep it even in my party.

That's kinda what I do, I train them one at a time

Battle in the wild until I've beaten the league. After I've beaten the league I go back over and over again until they're a bunch of killing machines

I usually limit myself to 3/4 Pokémon and vary their type attacks because training 6 takes longer and training fewer gets their levels up quicker to take on the gyms.

Then it's Elite 4 grindy time

Well for campaign you gotta grind unfortunatly.

But for multiplayer and shit, EV's are what you use.

I IV breed and EV train my pokemon . I like leveling them up the hard way . Feels more personal that way. I have a personal relationshiP with my machamp.

I always have my team planned out before I start a new game although this only works when I know the game well. Basically I train one Pokemon 3 or 5 levels at a time. Exp share does help, when ever I find my self in a battle where a member of my team can't do anything, I give it the exp share.

Then there is grinding, lots and lots of grinding. In fact Plantium and Leaf Green where probably the two games which demanding grinding.

Have about 4 lads that get levelled til I can beat the Elite Four. Then catch ALL(as many) the Pokemon and then re-do the Elite Four over and over til all the Pokemon that evolve by levels have done so.

Although actually on this playthrough on White, I have just beaten the Elite Four and my brother has been helping me with IV/EV training and natures and all that stuff.

I plan my party before i play the game, and try to have the most balanced and efficient party possible,i always train a team of 6 pokémon at a time, and they always have the same level, grinding a lot in the beggining of the game, and battling every trainer in the game.

Years ago i trained only my starter(generaly the fire one),but i found that training six pokémon at a time to be more fun.

I usually spend most of my training on Victory Road before I take on the Elite Four and Champion.

I also like to plan out my team as I go through the game. I would look up who would make a good Pokemon, what moves they have access to, how they would compliment other members of my team, and whether I liked their design or not. I'll replace certain members if necessary.

When I was a child I used to balance train my pokemon, but when I last played Pokemon Yellow two years ago( After accidently corrupting my save) I just power trained pikachu through the game, only really training others when the need arose. Found that to be much more efficient.

Like the Spetznaz.
And then I have them wrestle bears until they can shrug off the notion of fear.

(bleh, I really don't bother training them unless I'm making a specific team for Vs. Online Vs degenerates into whoever brought out the PAR first. Usually, the "training" occurs when I'm trying to catch something. Usually something obnoxiously difficult to find.)

I power level my Charizard until he can beat the Pokemon Master's entire team, including Blastoise, without assistance.

Then I stop playing Pokemon and sit on my porch shaking my walking stick at these young people that don't know how good they have it because back in my day there were only 151 Pokemon and we were perfectly fine with that.

Kids these days.
