Cynic, mainly because nothing has ever worked out for me recently. I just simply don't trust many people in general.

Is the bottle half empty or half full?

I'm a realistic and I have to say how annoying that expression is to us.

I'm generally optimistic.

However, I believe that most people are rude and arrogant morons. People in general seem to have no manners. The British gentleman is long since dead.

I tend to live day to day so my views on life, the universe and everything change incredibly frequently. I think it mostly depends on my mood.

I view things realistically but I see nothing wrong with pursuing what could be, which is Idealism.

Pessimism--->Distorted Realism, it addresses what is and assumes nothing will change.
Optimism---->Distorted Idealism, it sees what could be without addressing what is and will be.

While viewing things I may take a pessimistic/cynical (forgot the difference between these two) stance, but that's only because I want to get the chance to be surprised.

Pursue what could be, but watch your ass and laugh when your concoction blows up in your face.

I expect the worst, hope for nothing, look forward to nothing, and plan very little.
Plans fall apart, hopes will be dashed, looking forward to something just means something will go wrong with it.

Expect the worst and if it turns out good, you get a pleasant surprise.
If not, you're prepared.
If you start out expecting the worst, aren't you starting out at or lower than where you'd be if you expected the best and it didn't work out that way?

And once something turns out good that you expected to be bad, do you then expect that to also go bad (in preparation for if/when it does)?

Not picking a fight, just curious.
What do you mean by lower?

And, I honestly wouldn't know. So little happens that could be considered good that I've forgotten my normal response to it. Probably confusion and guarded optimism.
Are you saying I'm not good for you? How dare you! Back into the closet, you unworthy worm!

Im kind of a pessoptimist. I dont think the word exists. :p But well, I mean that Im a positive person seeing the good side of things, but I do realise that most things wont come out well, so I wont be so let down if/when it ends fucked up.
But Im also a very forgiving and understanding person, which kind of makes me... Well, weak. Becuse of that Im frightened of relationships with guys, that I have forgiven to many times, Im slowly turning into a lesbian, not only becuse of that, but still.
I try to understand people, and see it their way, but that wont necessarily make me accept them, it might piss me off real good. Emo's are people that I truly cant stand for long.
And unfortunatley Im kind of depressed myself(son of a *****).
But since I have come to the conclusion that hurting yourself, sucicide and those things just are crap. I am in fact depressed, yes, but I react in rage, and not in sadness. It has... well partly my mixed way of viewing stuff made me kind of insane.

cautiously optimistic with occasional bouts of apathy and self-pity and I'll change moods faster than you can turn on a light bulb

Oh come on. You can do better than that.
You sure are expecting a lot of someone who lives in your computer.
No, but I expect a lot of someone who lives in my closet and threatens my life day after day after day. I mean, how can you expect me to be afraid of you if all you can do is come up with *gay joke*?
Seriously man, stop slacking off and get a grip. Do something, you've got so much potential. I hate to see it go to wastes.

Im trying to think of a reason why this website has attracted so many jaded pessimists like myself and like you all seem to be. It seems like a very prominent theme in this thread
