how do you want the world to end

I'd like it to end over the period of exactly 3 days, with warning prior to the 3 days. Because that way you can spend time with your family and loved ones, and have enough time to loot shit and use it for a bit.

Anymore than 3 days, and things will just get out of hand that bit too much. And your terminally weeping family will get on your nerves.

Also, it's just enough time to get a movement together to counter-act the disaster, which will display no doubt amazing acts of human courage and accomplishment. But we still die. :3

Meteor strike or alien attack is the preferred method.

Humankind will be out of this solar system before Earth ends. I want human civilization to continue, warts and all.

The world..... I want the galaxy to be ravaged by war and exhausted of materials. Entire systems left uninhabitable.

I want an asteroid to smack into us in my lifetime. That leaves enough time for everyone to use the "you don't want to die a virgin" line and hopefully the masses will be pleased.

In a giant war against Lucifer and the dominions of Hell. When we ultimately lose, we are transported to Valhalla where we will share drinks and chicken nuggets with Teddy Roosevelt.

I would like for the world to be plunged into a hellish alternate dimension of indescribable horrors and torments for all eternity.

Dalek invasion. That way, we Brits will be prepared when everyone else won't know what the hell to do.
Wait, where the hell do you plan on getting a sonic screwdriver?

As for how the world ends, I don't really care, as long as it involves Marvin the Paranoid Android.

hmm.... (scratches stubble) I've got it.

A group of international scientists gather together to create a source of food that will grow in any climate, with little water or sunlight. They come up with a type of edible fungus that feeds off of pretty much any biological matter. However before they can hand off samples to all the world governments and end world hunger, the lab is attacked and set on fire by a group of peta-esk protesters (protesting bio-engineered food). The Scientists all die in the fire and are sent back to their respective nations to be buried.

However unbeknownst to society the fire released the fungus, and before the scientists died they were all infected with it. Over the next few days the fungus eats the bodies of the scientists, and their wooden coffins, and then the dirt their were buried in (dirt is mostly dead plants). A few weeks later the fungus had eaten enough dirt to cause cave ins that released the fungus. The fungus quickly spreads out of control, and eats all biological matter on the planet.

Is being eaten by our food, which was inadvertently released by the people who wanted to stop it ironic enough for you?

It would start with the internet going down and everyone forming small tribes to claim territory. People would eventually wipe each other out until only one man remains. He then kills himself for no reason.
True story.

Seriously though I will be a bit disappointed if its not zombies.

Hard to say . the zombie invasion would be cool for about 5 seconds. Until i realized i'd most likely end up as some zombies new chew toy.
I'd go with some nuclear war type thing. Figured it was going to happen eventually anyways.

That's pretty good, thank you! Another possibility would be finding the secret to immortality, then hating our eternal existence so much we throw all our efforts into finding ways to end it.

Zombies, I like zombies. Although technically that wouldn't be the end of the world, just the end of humanity...
Oh yeah, your post totally reminded me of this comic. :D

I'd like a zombie apocalypse too. Cause why not right? :D
Dragons coming back to reclaim the world would be cool too though. :3

Also, I like the idea of humanity ending in a medieval style war. I just love the idea of everyone fighting to the death in armor, swords, bows, etc.

With the idea of the possibility of the world ending slowly fading out of the public's collective subconscious.
