I'm trying to work on my Enthalpy portfolio and need to find out some of the starting sums.

The mean of the Question is 1.785

One of the units is 1.62

It is out of 2 units.
what is the other unit?

Please Help if you can

Thanks

I think it should be 1.95.

Granted, I'm only in Precalc, but I think what you should do is this:

Because it's only out of 2 units, you multiply the mean by 2 and then subtract that answer by 1.62.

Make the unknown value = x

So we see that (x + 1.62)/2 = 1.785

Multiply both sides by 2: x + 1.62 = 3.57
Subtract 1.62 from both sides: x = 3.57 - 1.62 = 1.95

Easy.
