I am interested in this because on some forums I hear ''I have a lot of homework'',''f***ing homework'' and stuff like that and I have to say I never hear people saying ''Oh I have to study for 4 hours'' which I complain about whenever someone mentions school so my question is how does your school work do you study or do homework more.Where I live its a loooooot of studying like 4 hours every day its really annoying but if you want 5(A) you have to be consistent.

That's hard to read.

Where do you go to school?

It depends on your ability. Some people will require very little effort to get 5 As in Scotland (where I live) for their highers, some people will require lots and lots of work. I'm somewhat between those, but I don't have to do a lot of work to get good grades.

Maybe an hour every couple of days.

Not well.

That being said, it varies widely. I had classes in high school where homework counted for as much as 60% of the grade, or as little as 15%. I never had to study for four hours in order to keep up with material though.

Lucky you:p

I should probably be studying for at least 2-3hours everyday but I just can't do it. I've managed half an hour today then I seen Blackadder Rides Again on BBC2 >.<

I live in Denmark, and currently i'm going to a business college. The way it works in Denmark is that you start with 10 years in basic school, everyone goes through that, and when you finish basic school you can decide wether you want to go to business college, gymnasium or technic school (mechanic and such). As I mentioned I'm studying at a business college, and its easy as hell. If you just listen to your teacher in class then you'll do fine, but thats pretty hard because you end up playing games on your PC with your friends, almost every time. But its pretty easy, we dont do much homework, except right now we are doing a major task called SRP where we have to pick a business we want to analyze and all that stuff, and we have to make a repport on that business for february 25th. Thats probably the biggest task, and one of the most important too. But the best thing about going to school in Denmark is that we get paid for going to school, yep, thats right, we get paid for going to school when we turn 18, but then again, we pay 45% in taxes :/

Ahh, a fellow Scottish person! Something of a rarity online. It seems that most of us are either too drunk or stupid to use computers.

Are you in your 5th year at school?

It doesn't work very well, that's for sure.
But, the way homework works here is that if you take more advanced classes you usually get more of it.

In Scotland I imagine it's going to be very hard for me. I can't read something and remember it I need to either read it again and again and again or write it down a few times. I have ALOT to write down :/

Ohh, interesting. On my main forum, I know of literally one other Scottish person that's active, out of a member-base of >150,000.

Mnemonics are seriously awesome. The brain remembers random things better than things which make sense for some bizarre reason. I don't know anyone who doesn't use SOH CAH TOA for trig.

Exactly. Another great example is "scared lovers try positions that they can't handle" for remembering the order of the bones in the wrist.

If you're stuck with remembering something (for example, the colours of the rainbow in order from highest to lowest wavelength), try and make up a rhyme or a string of words that will help you remember it.

I remember it using "ROY G BIV", which is a lot easier than "Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet".
