...It doesn't. It's a space station that can fire a laser beam across the galaxy. It's just in an orbit.
Yeah, I was going to say this^, as well as some used of the force, and small engines.

Very slowly. If you want a more detailed answer, study this picture for more information.

There's your answer. If you can't find an answer, look harder.
That pic kinda reminds me of a Pokeball.

you know those rubber band wind up balsa wood airplanes you played with as a kid? Pretty much that but on a large scale.

It is fueled by hopes and dreams. A dream of a better future where the Imperium will be rid of these pesky back water rebels and their vile force sorcerers.

Or it's just future propulsion whatever stuff. Hey...It worked for the Enterprise.

I dont think so. If I remember right, the Death Star floated and used a series of small coasting thrusters on the hull to move. It wouldnt need giant engines to move because its a floating fortress with thousands of men and hundreds of ships. Plus its giant planet destroying laser, it wouldnt necessarily have to run more so just slightly thrust to the left or right to avoid something (if even need be) or just move to a different section of space.

Besides that, I'm sure it has a lightspeed generator on it.
You just put a horrible image in peoples minds of the Death Star coming out of FTL, that shit is SCARY. It's like "hey we're winning this bat- OHHHHH CRA-*BANG*"

Nightmare material man! :|

OT: If you must know, Star Wars has a technical manual on all the ships (at the time, it doesn't have the new episode ships) and it says all sorts of info.

well, then my work is done. XD
In all honesty, when you have a weapon that can DESTROY PLANETS (becuase I cant stress this enough) why would you ever think you had a hope to win? I mean, all the Death Star has to do is just WAIT for the rebel alliance, find the ship with Luke Skywalker, and blast it with the PLANET DESTROYING LASER! and then all hope is pretty much dead.
But then again, that's just me.

Most of these answers are retarded. The Death Star DID have massive engines on it. They just weren't visible like say, a Star Destroyer's were. And since the space station was the size of a MOON, Even the most massive engines wouldn't be easily visible. As for superluminal velocities, the Death Star had 123 hyperdrive field generators that it harnessed to move accross the galaxy.

It can't move with engines. It orbits planets. If you notice in "A new hope", they can't target Yavin 4 right away, because they have to wait until their orbit lines up with the line of sight with Yavin 4. (How they get close to Yavin 4 beats me)

Ummmm....
Who cares? It blows up PLANETS!!!

Course, apparantly there was another war machine in Star Wars that was built before the timeline of the movies that could blow up Suns, or something like that. That seems pretty cool...

...I just realized I'm more of a nerd than I thought I was, which is pretty lame...

I'm sure it has some hidden thrusters concealed somewhere to prevent damage from attack.

Or it just propels itself using pure awesome...

Hyperspace [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperspace_%28science_fiction%29#Star_Wars] and planetary gravity (aka slingshot) [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slingshot_effect] (the Death Star used a slingshot in 'A New Hope' to get into a targeting position for the rebel base).
This makes sense... I never really thought about the Death Star moving, I just took it for granted.

Like i said, put something on the 2 meter achilles heel hole. I mean, even crashing ships of your own men into it would work, considerng they are clones and all.
