Canada is a bit socialist, but so is most of the world.

I have to respect their military. The US tried to conquer them on two separate occasions (during both the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812), and Canada cleaned their clocks both times.

They overvalue their currency. I live within two hours of the boarder, and I have worked food service. They often do not understand why an American just will not take a Loony at the same value as a greenback.

They definitely are a welcoming lot. As a US citizen it is easier to get into Canada than it is to return home.

In short, I'm cool with Canadians.

Oh, so just because someone's put on a little weight, you think you can call them the world, eh? How rude of you, sir.

Yeah...that was a terrible joke. I apologize.

I have never been to Canada, though I wouldn't mind visiting some day. I hear good things, especially about the forests and greenery, and the bacon is quite delicious.

Canadians are peaceful and have healthcare. So I'd say you're a bit like a North American Europe. It's much easier to identify with Canadians than Americans (USAers) for me.

[small]Why do we almost exclusively call people from the USA Americans, by the way? Everybody in North and South America are Americans.
That'd be like calling French Europeans but nobody else from Europe Europeans.[/small]

Now from personal experience: Unfortunately, I was there only once when I was a wee lad and remember little of it.
But I remember that I liked it there.

Canada is secretly planning world domination.
they make a point of being so quiet and such, so that nobody would ever expect their nefarious plans.
it won't be long till we see several million canadians marching down the border with guns in hand.

Australian:

Canada is very cold, produces lots of maple syrup, and is being quite aloof about their perceived superiority to the US.

(Which i kinda agree with)

In stereotypes, a bit weird, quirky and to nice. As both a Canadian (by birth and by law) and Irish (blood and location) I have to deal with both stereotypes and general ignorance regularly.

In real life however, Canada's freaking awesome!

I picture an idyllic, sparsely populated land of hockey-enthusiasts, ruled by men who constantly fall through the crust of the earth.

A friend of mine informed me that you've moved to ban white bread because it's unhealthy.

You people confuse me.

Mexico is the United States of Mexico. We still call Mexico 'Mexico', though.

We're the United States of America. America be in our name, so it's not irrational to just shorten it to 'America' and 'Americans'.

If you really want to get technical, you can just call us citizens of the United States of America.

I just checked, and the Canadian dollar is about 97c American.

So... rounded off, that's a dollar...

I guess the question becomes: Why don't you believe the CAN$ has parity with a US$?

no way, I'm the exact oppostie! (minus the steriotypes but I can't help it if everyone else is under the table when we get drinking)
I think Canada's a pretty cool guy, he's a hat and doesn't afraid of manners
