canada should apologize for willingly harboring american fugitives.
You mean the free men escaping from Vietnam? If anything, YOU should be apologizing for causing them to come here in the first place with your stupid little war.
Did you know it's the 21st century? Christ ... pull your head out of your arse. I am referring to canada's policy of not extraditing criminals to the US if they think the death penalty may be applied.

No wonder americans hear so little of canada in the news. Are they even trying to catch up?
you mean him ?

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=azUjxXnM3K.M

to my knowledge it's the only case where it happened, and our highest court just ruled that it's ok to extrade him...

so now you dont have any reason to be upset at canada...
This is NOT the first incident. The show 'Law and Order: SVU' (canadians have TVs, yes?) had an episode over two years ago that was inspired by an incident where canada refused extradition of a criminal on grounds of capital punishment.
i did a little research, because yes we have tv in canada, but since i'm french, i dont listen to a lot of US shows unless they are translated. and since i 1- dont listen a lot of tv and 2-listen mostly to quality local content (yes i know it's shocking, but good tv shows are not always created in the USA), i miss a lot of US show like law and order.

you refer to episode Manhunt. based on Charles NG case.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Ng

we extraded him.

another knowned case is also the kindler case

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kindler_v._Canada

we extraded him...

a last case is knowned is the burnes case

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebastian_Burns

we did extraded him, but with the assurance that he would not be put to death. however in that case, he was canadian, not american.

but the burnes case was pretty much overruled by the new ruling of october 16th.

so, 4 cases in 30 years ? which all result in extradition...

oh yes, we should apologise so much...

I can say that as an European, Canada seems a lot more peaceful to me than the US.

Seems like a nice enough place. I've never been there, but the culture seems pretty similar to the United States and a lot of my favorite nerdcore rap artists are Canadian.

I would like to visit.....just maybe in the summer.
Bah. The winters aren't that cold. You wanna know something REALLY funny. Toronto had to Call in the Army to Shovel snow lol. And they will never live it down lol.
"Not that cold" to you means some thing different to me. I was born and raised in Hawaii. right now I'm stationed in northern California and I freeze my ass off every winter here. I can only imagine how I would deal with cold lower than 30 degrees. As to your other comment, that is EXACTLY why I joined the Air Force over the Army. Army gets screwed over every chance they get.
Lol. Nice choice....i guess. The big Joke is cause they needed the army to shovel snow. Thats like the mafia calling the police to help them dig a hole lol. Also Try -40... Fahrenheit lol. And i still walked to school bitches lol.
-40?! As in here is zero, now make it 40 degrees colder?! Damn! When it hits 35 here in NorCal fuck going outside for anything. And you walked to school in that? You have my respect.

Well after seeing some comments made by some of the citizens of the US of A, I've lost a massive amount of respect, especially comments made by this ass hat thegreatmilenko pg 4-6 I think.

*sigh*

with that outa the way Canada rocks in some ways, but we are are struggling to keep ourselves different from The US of A, from which is hard when you have such a large population and media source directly below you.

Oh and we have some ****ing nice babes.

Also to top off any of the "Holy shit man it's cold" stories Last year in Ottawa, during the bus strieks and the winter, I walked 17 km to school in -39 celsius, with running shoes, gloves, and a hoodie. I was fine 'till 15 km in when I started getting sleepy. Where is your god now ??!! XD

Oh, the cold stories.

I northern ON, so much ice hung off of the trees that they all seemed to bow to me as I passed. When the ice melted? Drinking water troubles. RIGHT when the electricity went out.

The joke? We had an electric stove.

I think people see us in two ways:

1. Friendly, laid back, nice people who are accepting of all cultures and customs. Come to Canada for scenery, heritage and beauty.

OR

2. WEARING PARKAS CAUSE ITS SNOWIN ALL THE TIIIIME!

They overvalue their currency. I live within two hours of the boarder, and I have worked food service. They often do not understand why an American just will not take a Loony at the same value as a greenback.
I hope you realize that US currency is practically the same price as CAD these days.

http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi?Amount=1&From=CAD&To=USD&x=38&y=20

imo, Americans overprice their currency.

I am from Britain and i say canada is the best country in the world. It is unfortunately overshadowed by its next door neighbor the filthy usa. In short, Canada=where the gods live (they are still British though) America=not the best place ever.(I fear this is all i can say staying in the realms of politeness)
Britain is somewhare in between

I was in Bosnia, working with Canadian soldiers. We got shot at a lot. I even got shot, and they rushed me to medical in record time. I have nothing but the greatest respect for the Canadian army. They are bad ass when it comes down to it.

I see Canada as our allies, so like ... you're cool. Just really, really cool since you live farther north than I do.
