How easily do you scare?

Abandoned houses/buildings don't really scare me. I am cautious though as I don't know wtf is in there. Could be a druggie waiting to pounce and steal my money for all I know. When I travel through them I make sure i'm armed with my knife and pistol.

Now back on topic, the darkness and unknown doesn't really scare me. Amnesia scared the crap out of me though. Dark, spooky, fucked up ambient sounds and just generally not knowing when or where the monster is... and not being armed. Oh sweet jesus

How easily do I scare? The things that go bump in the night, check the shadows to make sure I'm not in them.

OT: Honestly, it's pretty hard to scare me. I'm cautious, yes, but there's nothing I've encountered that made me experience any kind of insurmountable fear.

Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and Ghosts don't scare me for one simple reason: they don't exist. I'm too grounded in reality to even watch horror movies. Some people watch them to get the adrenaline pumping, but they're just too ridiculous for me to not burst out laughing during the "scariest" parts.

Particularly, I am prone to jump scares. My brother says I'm afraid of the thought of jump scares. I'm known to mute a movie to prevent such a thing from happening.

I get freaked out easily. I blame it on my elder brother and sister who spent a large portion of my childhood purposefully scaring me. They would tell me ghost stories, jump out at me in dark hallways, lock me up in dark rooms, making me watch scary movies when I wasn't allowed by our parents. My brother even nearly suffocated me once with a pillow (he wasn't trying to, we were just kids playing around, but he didn't realize how dangerous that was and neither did I, I just knew that I was scared while he was doing it).

So yeah...I scare easily. I'm very jumpy and nervous and I've had some really fucked up nightmares all my life.

Well, an abandoned house isn't that scary. Just the occasional highschoolers having a protracted quickie, hobo squatting in the cellar, and psychotic murderer planning his next outside-his-house victim, so you're safe on all accounts, though I suggest watching out for the unmopped splooge of a teenage male trying not to blast inside his girlfriend. Not because it might be infected or murder you or anything, but because that's really just gross.

I am easily startled, however. I occasionally get lost in thought, and if someone unexpectedly interrupts me, I usually yelp in startled confusion. But scare? Nah. Logic usually trumps fear for me. Just have to be reasonable and realize that any being with blades for teeth would probably slice it's own mouth into agonizing shreds any time it took a bite. I figure I'm safe from that.

I'm very cautious and hate walking in "classically scary" places, like abandoned buildings or dim alleys... unless I'm holding a Bible. If I repeat verses to myself, I get even braver.

Begin your conspiracy theories and furious hatred... now.

I will spaz right out and yell if I unexpectedly encounter insects or spiders, though, and freak right out if I encounter large ones under ANY circumstance, Bible or not.

I play through Amnesia and Silent Hill like a boss, and yet I had to watch The Lady in Black through my fingers. Although, the fact that the audience at the theater mostly consisted of squealing Daniel Radcliff fangirls in their early teens who have never seen a horror movie before in their lives resulted in a lot of narm.

I'm easy to scare, but I'm also improving rapidly.

Although if you catch me by surprise, especially in a dark and unfamiliar environment, I WILL flip my shit.

So yeah, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "chickenshit" and 10 being "fearless badass"....I'm probably a 3.5

I scare way too easily. I can scare myself just using my own imagination. I conjure shit up out of thin air that genuinely makes me hesitant about going downstairs into the darkness at night. I'm 20 years old, I should not still be creeping down the stairs so as not to alert the goblins!

A few true stories to demonstrate how much of a pussy I am:

- Until I was 17 years old, the film Donnie Darko scared me. Even now, if I haven't watched it in a while, certain parts of it still make me feel slightly scared or creeped out.
- After playing about half-way through Resident Evil 3 on the PS1, I was scared of going into dark rooms through fear of Nemesis for a little short of a year! The first time I was able to go into my kitchen at night without thinking "what if Nemesis is waiting to kill me?" I genuinely considered that a great achievement.
- I played the first small section of Resident Evil 4, got to the village assault bit, and have never gone back to that game. I can't bring myself to. It just sits there on my shelf, taunting me.
- The film Scream 2 scared me. Yes, Scream 2. I was scared of Ghostface when I first saw that film.

Two kinds of fear for me.
- General "fear". Fear of hights, fear of the dark, fear of social encounters. Fear of angry people, drugs abuse, war, death. No. I'm reckless like that. Done stupid, stupid stuff that I'd do any upcoming day if I'm given the chance. Fearless and reckless is basically the same thing; scared people just prefer to call it reckless. Fear is a natural thing that happens when something feels likely to go wrong. If you don't feel that, or manage to break through that "barrier" of natural fear; you're fearless / reckless; you take no heed of the warnings.

-Media-induced fear. By that I mean movies, games, etc. that are scary. Yes, I jump occasionally. It's because I WANT to feel fear sometimes. It never gets old.

i easily become scared and very cautious when outside at night. especially in my area. i know there are worse areas but the north of england isn't particulalrly friendly, especially friday nights.

Certain things make me kinda scared, like seeing huge spiders on youtube, or listening to this song. Which Is believed to be one of the scariest songs ever made. With a deeply disturbing subject matter to go along with it.

I should warn you though, if you are using headphones, turn it down somewhat, trust me. You would definitely thank me on that one.


Surprisingly enough, I've never seen a film that has scared me yet...games on the other hand though...Project Zero 2, never again!

Depends on the context.

I'm really cautious in real-world settings. But that applies to stuff like heights, going fast... Uneven ground... And going into dark places and the like...

On the other hand, scary movies, games and books and the like do pretty much nothing for me.

(Sounds are about the only thing that can scare me... Briefly, and then only if it's a loud, unexpected sound.)

When I want to be, I can be scared, but otherwise I'm fine. Essentially, in actual real-life circumstances, I don't tend to get scared, though I'm not keen on heights, bu only if i have to jump or abseil of them.
However, when I'm playing Amnesia or Metro 2033, I can usually make myself really twitchy so I can get really scared. I ended up playing through Metro 2033 for the first time at about 11pm to 7am, and had to change my underwear several times.
