i gotta say sonic adventure battle 2 the Chao on that game made me and my friends so devoted to it that we pulled about 6 or 7 all niters just raising the dam things.Things got so out of hand that my friend got stabbed in the leg by his brother with a pencil all because he wouldn't duplicate a Chao and give it to him

The entire Nanako segment of Persona 4 (Spoilers to follow)

To elaborate, Nanako is the 7 year old daughter of Ryotaro Dojima, your uncle who you'll be staying with for the school year. Her mother was hit by a car and killed on the way to pick her up from school, her father is hardly home, losing himself in cases and still trying to find the guy who killed his wife, so she's constantly alone until you show up, and as your relationship with her grows she starts to refer to you as her "big bro". Now here's where the fun begins.

During the course of Persona 4 you're investigating a series of murders that involve people being kidnapped and thrown into TVs, at which point they are killed by demonic beings inhabitting the place. At one point, Nanako is kidnapped by Namatame, who you think is the killer, and thrown in a TV, now let's really get started.

The dungeons of Persona 4 are based on the thoughts and emotions of the people who are thrown into the TV, ie: Kanji's dungeon is a male bath house because he's questioning his sexuality, and Rise's is a strip club because she's viewed as a sex icon by the public. Nanako's dungeon is heaven. Or to delve even further, the heaven she thinks her mother went to when she died. While climbing through the floors you get little text boxes showing up to tell you what the victim is thinking. In Nanako's case, this sways from her assertions that she's not alone because she has the Main Character and her father, and crying about how much she misses her mother. After you rescue her, she is sent to the hospital for treatment. Get ready, here it comes.

She dies. You can save her later on, but at that moment, I was ready to kill Namatame. It's a very heartwrenching scene because through the whole game you're brought up to unconditionally love Nanako and all her little quirks, only for the game to throw a curveball and have her die.

The end of Prince of Persia (2008) made me sad when
Elika died, and for no real reason, it was a bit of a "wtf" moment, especially when the credits rolled and I thought that was the end (there is actually another ending afterwards)
but I didnt cry or anything like that.

Yea, but Wander had basically lost his life. What made him Wander is gone. And that is sad, cause all he wanted to do was to save Mono and be together with her, and he never even got to see her come back to life. At least that's my perspective on the story. They didn't tell much of the story, but I assumed they loved each other, as in bf/gf love, since they seemed to be of close age to each other, and the small cutscenes really showed his feelings towards her.

Someone I know sympathized a lot with the colossi. And I can't say he's wrong. I mean, there that guy comes, wakes up the colossi from their sleep and stab them in the head. They're like "What!? I'm trying to sleep here! What did I ever do you!?".
I assumed they loved each other as well; I can't think of any other realistic reason why Wander would have gone through all that to bring her back to life. Unrequited love would make sense as well, but it makes more sense, in my opinion, if the two of them are lovers. I wouldn't say Wander lost Mono in the end, though. They still got to be together in that garden on top of the shrine, and although the age gap would have been pretty big, I assume they must have had children, unless Wander is Ico.

As far as sympathising with the Colossi goes, I never really understood why I should. With some of them I understand completely, especially No. 13. Phalanx, I think it was called. That one didn't attack you at any point, and looked so damn beautiful that it really seemed a shame to kill it. The same goes for No. 5, the bird. Most of the others, however, attack you on sight, so I don't see why I should feel bad for killing them. No. 16, Malus, especially: as soon as he sees you, he tries to kill you with his magical cannon attack which knocks off half your health bar and sends you flying 50 metres backwards. Why should I feel bad for killing him?

The closest i ever got to crying was in Metal Gear Solid 4 when Snake is crawling through what is basically a giant microwave, you also see clips of what is going on at that moment like soldiers dying and a little girls cooking eggs.

What I'm being sad about is that Wander basically died, cause all his memories were probably lost, as he became a baby. What is left of a person without his memories? They're what makes us who we are. But still, it's the closest I've seen to a perfect ending. Dramatic, epic, sad, and it has a very special way of sucking you in, making you feel sympathetic for them. Innovation at it's best.

I remember crying in KH, probably more than once.

What game are you talking about?
F.E.A.R. 2, half life 2 ep 2 and mass effect, i didn't want to just ruin all of those games by saying exactaully what happend for people that haven't played them yet, so i was being really vague

Never cried in a game but got the tears welled up pretty good in MGS4. And as for the games that had amazing endings that weren't exactly sad. I got pretty worked up in Mass Effect, Halo 3, Resident Evil 5, and Fable 2.

As for getting angry, RE5 multiplayer does that for me pretty good.

I got quite upset over Wrex's fate in Mass Effect. Didn't cry, though.
I'm guessing you shot him? That was fun.
I have never been that into a game that i have felt sad when one of my faourite characters died. It hapened in stargate when Dr Fraiser died, it happened in wishsong of shannara when amberle transformed into the ellcrys and it happened in wishsong of shannara when Garet Jax died. But never in a game.
Actually, I must admit i was a little upset when the chief died in Halo. Just seeing that little 117 on the memorial. It moved me a little bit.
Also, this is my 1000th post. I'd like to thank all those who made it possible. All i can say is dreams can come true

I distinctly remember two times I nearly cried and definitely got shivers down my spine:

-When Eli Vance is telling Alyx to look away, then Alyx holding him in her arms.

-When the Alliance Fleet swoops in to save the Destiny Ascension, and when Sovereign falls.

I've cried a couple of times. Not full on sobbing sessions, mind you. Just a couple of tears. Manly tears. I CANNOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH. (Spoilers follow)

In MGS4 alone, I cried at Otacon's 'Snake had a hard life' line, when Snake 'shot himself', and when Big Boss died.

The only other time I cried was in Lair. While ultimately being a piss poor excuse for a game, the story was very engaging. I shed a single tear at the end of Koba Kai's speech.

Now, for games that made me simply lay down my controller and stare in awe for a few seconds:
Killzone 2 - When Templar dies.
Flower - When you gain the power to disintegrate the pylons.
Resistance 2 - Ending.
Infamous - When Kessler turns out to be Cole.
COD4 - Aftermath.

I am totally not a pussy.

At all.

I have never cried in game but tte ending in HL2: Episode 2 left me so jawstruck that I couldn't sleep that night. It was so sudden and out of the blue.

CoD 4 ending aren't very nice either.

So true. Damn Valve that makes so lovable characters.

The music for the endcredits doesn't make things better, gives me chills everytime I listen to it.
