Not excited in the slightest.

I never got excited for the Lord of the Rings, either.

They were great movies, don't get me wrong, I just, dunno, they don't get my juices flowing.

Pretty excited, actually. I enjoy the Lord of the Rings films a lot more than the books (and that's coming from someone who's aspiring to be a fantasy/historical author) and seeing as how this is being handled by the same guy, I'm guessing it's going to be great as well. The Hobbit is a marvelous little book, albeit very simplistic. Not sure how they're going to get 3 films out of it, but we'll see.

I'm very interested in seeing how the Battle of Five Armies will look. Lord of the Rings films didn't feature very logical battle scenes, but they were great to look at.

Not at all.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it will be a good movie. I'll watch it at some point and I fully expect to enjoy it.

However... meh.

I guess it's because I already know the story. Plus, having seen the LotR movies, I even already know what it's going to look like.

I really dug the dwarven song in one of the trailers.

I'll definitely watch it, but I'm not in any real hurry.

Very.

Most excited to see McKellen as Gandalf again, and Freeman seems to fit very well as Bilbo.
The Hobbit is one of my all time favourite books, and having three movies with extra Middle-earth is just a plus.

I'm looking forward to it, it's been quite a while since LOTR actually came out, so the Hobbit is definitely overdue. I'm entering with low expectations and hoping to be presently surprised.

Half excited.

I read the Hobbit as a child, and even then I thought it was lacking. It was a fun tale, but the events didn't really lead up to much until the very end (I mean this in comparison to Lord of the Rings, where quite a few of the events impact the story).

But after seeing how much they are doing for this movie, including bringing characters (and their perspective actors) from LOTR who weren't even in the original story (Legolas, Saruman, Galadriel, and thus seem to be expanding on the source material with both those characters and even original characters. I'm very intrigued to how this will turn out.

Not in the slightest.

I'm not a fan of Lord of the Rings so I don't care for the Hobbit either. Just not for me.

I don't really get excited...I think I inherited that from my grandmother.

I do however think it will be great and I would love to see it. I can wait for it to come on DVD however, I am a patient person and theatres are full of noisy cretins.

I enjoyed the Hobbit over the Lord of the Ring series. *The Novels* I really like Peter Jackson and the Lord of the Rings movies. So I can saw without a doubt I will like the movie. Not more than the book, but I will get enjoyment out of it. I am glad it will be two parts, so they can add more detail into the movies and take their time!

It depends... Did Peter Jackson actually read the Hobbit? Because, he sure as hell didn't read LotR.

PJ wholesale removed any and all references to lore from his first craptacular attempt at Tolkiens work.

So, from what I've heard, PJ's trying to add foreshadowing references about LotR into his new attept? Does this clown even know that the Hobbit was written in a stand alone universe?

As much as I hated The Lord of the Rings books, I paradoxically loved The Hobbit. It was the first thing I read outside of school, in a recreational way. I don't know why they want to chop it into three pieces since there aren't that many big events to it...unless they're going to NOT show us Smaug until the final movie which would suck (though it'll be worth the wait for the Battle of Five Armies)

Anyway I do plan on checking out The Hobbit trilogy in 3D and actually owning the blu-ray box.
