I admit that I'm well behind on games. I haven't yet played any of the games that have come out in the last 6 months, and I only just started playing 'Mass Effect' (the original) last week. The good thing though is that when I do look to play a 'new' game, it is usually less than 1/3rd the price of when it was released.

Am I the only one like this?

I haven't played any new games in a 3 years or so. I went to college and got poor :(

Ok, that is a lie. I have played some games when I am over at friend's houses, just never finished them.

I have a back log of games that I need to play through, but damn TF2 is addicting.

Nope! Since becoming a grotty student I just haven't had the money for the new releases. The only one I had to buy was Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Fallout: New Vegas. This makes me a sad panda. Definitely intending on getting Dragon Age 2 next month though.
As for Mass Effect, I played Mass Effect 2 through again just last week. It really is awesomeness on disc. Look forward to it man.

I picked up Dragon Age: Origins about 8 months after it came out. What a silly mistake that was. Other than that, no. I don't play games as often as I used to. I'm more into DVD box sets and comic books atm but I'm still gonna be picking up Bulletstorm and Dragon Age 2 in the coming weeks/months

Very few new games appeal to me, so I don't consider myself behind at all...

I haven't played anything new since mass effect 2. I figure after ME3 that I will fianlly shelve this life hijacking addiction.

I like my old games. There is absolutely no problem with that. Problem is, I haven't been able to keep up with technology (cuz I'm a poor PC gamer), and the number of games my machine is CAPABLE of playing is limited. The last game I bought was Mass Effect 2, which I still loved at the lowest possible settings.

I'm not far behind, I've just not accomplished what I think I should have done by now, such as a Dragon Age: Origins playthrough with Dragon Age 2 in mind and other such things.

But release wise I've been fine ^^

Depends on what you call behind, there are games that I won't to play but my current hardware prevents me from doing so. On the other hand I'm playing other games like Super Meat Boy when I do sit down and play games.

Currently my steam account has 150+ games on the list. I've played at most, 50% of them. I've beat, maybe 25 or so. I have a huge backlog. 0_O

Unless I particularly want to engage with the multiplayer, I usually leave it several months/a year (I also usually let my parent-subsidised little brother buy the games!).

Recently, I've been looking forward to, but haven't played, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Dead Space 2 and (cautiously), Black Ops.

As for actually playing every game that comes out, I have to be one of the most behind people in the history of the universe. I have several newly released games, but I haven't tried to keep up and try out many games. I'm a little finicky about my games like that.

Just got Demon's Souls like 6 days ago, damn I was missing out on a fantastic game it turns out. Other than that I've been pretty up to date on at least renting good releases.

I'm going backwards, I mean when I had a PS3 I stopped caring about new games then it burned giving me even more reason not to care but I'm very into retro PC games, I mean recently I picked up Ultima VII, VIII, Underworld and Underworld 2(yes all of those are Ultima games) so I'm probably very far behind, considering Ultima Underworld 2 is from the early 90s I'm going to say I'm about 20 years behind.
Also does not help that my PC can barely run the Ultima game.

I find myself so daunted by the sheer volume of games in my "bought but have not yet played" pile, that I give up and start playing World of Warcraft again.

As far as new releases go, I'm pretty far behind. Apart from getting Vanquish and Enslaved for Christmas, I haven't bought a new release since CoD4.

Plus, I have a HUGE backlog of games to play (same for DVDs to watch)
