After stumbling across a very disturbing fact, I had to retrace my gaming history. basically the list of games of primary focus from most recent to furthest back that I could recall correctly. My main history worked back (note of course there have been other minor deviations along the path, like a short spell in summer of 2011 playing From dust, or playing xenosaga 3 on a power guided runthru) Basically qualifying a game based on the focus being greater than one week, first runthru games. Reruns or playing only for 3 days and then stopping to play something else omitted. Primary focus)

Deus Ex: HR
Dark souls
Arkham City
The Old republic
Winter steam sale competition> Dark Souls
LA Noire
Minecraft
Witcher EE
Dragon Age 2
Minecraft
Demon Souls
War for Cybertron
Final Fantasy XIII
Dark Siders
Mass effect 2
Darksiders
Left 4 Dead 2

This takes me all the way back to Christmas of 2009 where the games begin to become rather blurry of what I was doing at that time and can no longer accurately recall that history primarily because my game time was more limited then due to working a job.

So the question is, how far can you accurately retrace your primary gaming history

Oh jeez, NOT including re runs? hm...let me check steam and stuff then i'll be back

*checks list for 10 minutes*

okay I'll say this:

Neverwinter nights (first full runthrough of the game completed, played it before for a few hrs)
Mass Effect 3 (Don't know if i'll ever play it again...a shame really.)
Skyrim
Fable III
Deus Ex HR
Witcher 2
Deus Ex:GOTY edition
Mount and Blade: Warband
Portal 2
Minecraft
Dragon Age 2
Neverwinter Nights 2
Witcher EE
Spiderman: Web of Shadows
Alpha Protocol
Assassins Creed 2
FF XIII
Mass Effect 2
Team Fortress 2
Uncharted 2
Uncharted
Borderlands
Final Fantasy Dissidia
Dragon Age Origins
Mass Effect

Now there is definitely much much more in there, including COD mw2 (unfortunately) and halo reach, I just can't remember where they fit in exactly...

but yeah, the rest is pretty accurate, i think...didn't include a bunch of games I've just dabbled in 5ish hours..

this takes me back to about...end of summer 09?

before that, it's a blur of halo and other random crap that I can't remember.

My list of primary games is going to be rather short, mainly because I tend to pick an online game and stick with it for a while; single player games have mainly been diversions from the main action since I discovered online multiplayer.

I guess counting back from today, it would be:

TF2

Battlefront 2

LoL

Battlefront 2

Battlefield 2/TF2 conncurrently

TF2

String of open source + single player games because I didn't have a computer capable of playing much of anything online

Xwing Alliance/Xwing Vs. Tie Fighter (dabbled in this for a while. Couldn't keep up with it because by the time I started, the only way you could get anyone to agree to play a round with you was to join a clan, and I didn't have the time to play two games a week that took an hour each to set up and only lasted 10 minutes once you actually started playing)

Shogo: Mobile Armor Division (I played this for six years straight. Great game, but the online is now sadly dead.)

That brings us back to 2002, the year I started playing games online. Tracking things before that would be an effort in futility, both because it would mean I was under the age of 12 at the time (which leads to fuzzy memories) and because I don't really stick with singleplayer games, I kind of hop around between them. I guess the one I logged the most time on was Final Fantasy VII, but that was in between games of everything from Nascar 2000 to Super Mario Bros., so it's not really fair to say /any/ one game dominated.

I can go back to '84, playing Zork and Rogue.

Damn young'uns.
I am not kidding, but I had Pong.

It was a little grey video game box that plugged into the TV with two wired joysticks. It had bright orange buttons and you could pick from about 8 or so different games - but all of them variations on the simplest of them; Pong.

It ran on 4 "C" size batteries as I recall. That thing was outstanding at the time as something genuinely interactive in an era when the most interactive thing you could do was pause the VCR, or maybe adjust the tracking because your tapes were wearing out!

I'm not really sure I understand what's being asked here, but I'll try to answer what I think is right.

2012
Devil Survivor 2
PokePark 2: Wonders Beyond

2011
Saints Row the Third
Persona 2: Innocent Sin
Catherine
Pokemon Black/White
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

2010
Kirby's Epic Yarn
PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure
Persona 3 Portable
Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth

2009
Persona PSP
Devil Survivor
Devil Summoner 2

2008
Persona 4
Persona 3 FES

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few in there, but those are the main ones that I can remember.

Beat that Escapsits!
I see you didn't read the whole thread so far, but I already bingoed that game earlier.

That was pre-cartridge console even.

Edit: for more modern stuff, I haven't had much time to play in recent years. I stopped playing WoW in 2008 when I went back to university, and since then it's been Fallout: New Vegas and Plants vs Zombies, amid classes and labs. Can't think of anything else I've played all the way through in that time - mostly I start things and decide to devote more time to them later.

I thought op was looking for you to list the games you've played in chronological order. There is no way I could do that especially counting replays. The oldest game would probably be Space Invaders for me. First console was the old Atari with the wood panelling and switches probably hero or pitfall bring the first played on that.

Hey I have history dating back to Pong, Space invaders, Joust, etc too.. But the key is to remember your full primary focus titles in chronological order backwards, specifically because especially after having 30+ years as a gamer, Our history tends to become a blur with what really drew our attention at the point in time.

Its a little more complex. Just like being able to logically trace back through your history... August 2009 I was playing Civ V or something of the like plus being able to link what you transitioned your focus to and from.
