I've always sucked at pvp multiplayer as I I'm just not competitive enough to repeatedly employ the same successful strategy over and over again as it becomes stale very quickly for me. Plus I'm happy to lose to anyone.
For example I can be regularly found invading people in Dark Souls trying out bizarre character builds (usually naked) which have an almost zero success rate against the lightning katana wielding stun-lockers that I mostly come up against. But it's very fun if I do net a kill with a piece of wholly redundant equipment. Killing someone with nothing but poison daggers was probably the most fun I've ever had in that game.
