A quick and critical distinction, if I may:

A fan is anyone that enjoys a subject(s), giving it/them constant support while at the same time taking a step back to analyze the subject(s), offer constructive criticisms, and developing a personal standard as to what the subject(s) is/are, what it/they mean(s) to the fans, and what they expect the subject(s) to be in the future.

A fanboy is anyone that enjoys a subject(s), but they worship that/those subject(s) without question. Anything that is related to the subject(s) is/are adored by the fanboys, regardless if they ties into the subject(s) or not. They never question any faults that might befall the subject(s) and will always accept the subject(s) current state, even if it is terrible or extremely unfavorable.

I am a fan of many things, and I will always defend my interests if I feel like they are being criticized unjustly. I will also be willing to point out faults in my interests in hopes that they will be corrected at a later time or presented with a meaningful solution. I hold a standard to some of may interests and will expect no less of them. I will not abandon my interests; instead,I hold up the achievements that my interests have produced while keeping of firm grip on it various flaws in hopes that they can either be build upon or serve as a reminder so that they will never occur again.

Damn, I was just about to comment on the status of my erection, but now I must be mature
Well, kind of
Right now I'm a very big fan of TF2 and MLP (Who woulda guessed right?) and pretty much all I do on the internet at the moment relates to either/both of those things

Im fairly hardcore for Scott Pilgrim vs the world (comics).

I mean god that series really struck a chord with me. Because scott is a total asshole. And im a lot like him. It really made me examine my flaws. Mostly my inability to accept my past and all the things ive done wrong. Id rather ignore them. Ive rarely been changed by the things i read. And this one managed it. I guess you could say i count as a hardcore fan because its so deeply resonated with me.

The movie didnt manage that for me. Maybe thats why i kinda think its "meh" despite being a pretty good movie. It just didnt make me think about myself like the comics did.

Also i own the Gman tshirt.

Also totally love Kim Pine. How couldnt you?

Also the art he does ^ is just really nice to look at.

Christopher Nolan's Batman. Watch the movies at least once a month, can recite pretty much the entirety of the two movies from memory at this point. Pretty massive fan of them. And yes my dick is full-on ready to explode from waiting for The Dark Knight Rises.

Aside from that I'm not really a huge fan about anything else. Was a pretty huge fan of Ratchet & Clank at one point, but that was before Insomniac developed the obsession with trying to peddle the crappy multiplayer/downloadable games.

And I pretty eagerly await every episode of Game of Thrones but I don't particularly care enough to read the books.

I'm hardcore for... well having my kitchen used PROPPERLY, if someone is cooking in my kitchen and say carves meat with my breadknife, I will yell at them, after all, these are my tools, they are not to be misused, or mistreated.
All of my knives must be washed immediately after use, they must be stored propperly, and they must be used for their intended purposes, if someone can't figure out which is which they do not deserve to touch them.

Also I'm all about beer, if someone brings over a 6pack of Bud lite or some other shit when they tell me they are bringing beer, I tell them to leave, and only return once they get some good beer.

Pretty much, I only feel average strength emotional responses towards, anything else.

'sall good

Games and Movies I can accept people having a different opinion...
But when it comes to LiverpoolFC there's nothing else. Don't start an argument with me beacuse I will just flip, especially if it is a drunk fucker who knows nothing about football. Usually at this point I just turn around and walk away because they only look for trouble, very very seldom have I met a person who could debate football in a good way.

My screen name is partly a gag on the fact that I can't really work up that kind of enthusiasm for anything that isn't my own personal creation unlike some of the people whom some of my interests overlap with at times.

Maybe if I get anything done up to my own standards that I have for my own work, then maybe I will be able to say that I'm the biggest fan of [Insert name of work here].

Hmm. Maybe I'm a hardcore non-commitalist?

Sure, I'll bite.

Let's take the example of the Elder Scrolls. I love it. Or more to the point, I love Skyrim. I tried playing Oblivion but alas, it was too clunky and hadn't aged well at all.

I'd only go so far as to look up all the back story of every character, Deadric Prince and locations on the wiki. And that's... about it.

There's a fine line between fanboyism and being a fan. I'm snugly fit in the latter thank you very much.

I'm a huge fan of the Kingdom Hearts series. Have been for 10 years.
I recently became a fan of the Yakuza series, and Game of Thrones as well.
Other fanbases include The Last Airbender (show, not movie), Legend of Korra, Metal Gear Solid before it went down the drain, Monster Hunter until Capcom decided not to send its titles to the West, Final Fantasy, but not since X, which I loved, Disgaea and many others which I can't remember to save my life.
My fan status only goes as far as keeping an eye in the series and their respective developers.

Die hard Liverpool supporter, that is the only thing i'm a real fan of.

I have every single shirt released since 1982, every single match program since 1982 and all my ticket stubs since 1994 (when I started going on my own).

Season ticket holder for the past 12 years even though for most of it I was in the army and couldn't get on most of the games. Never knew when I was going to get leave though so I always had a ticket to get on a match if it was last minute.

I have the crest tattoo'd on my left shoulder.

The photo I had taken with Ian Rush is my most treasured possession.

When I die i've got it in my will that my ashes must be scattered on the turf in front of the Kop.

And I salute the statue of Bill Shankley every time I walk past it.

As far as games and TV shows and films go. I like some but not a fan of any of them.

Used to be a hardcore Warhammer and 40k fan, until I couldn't stop pretending that the backstories had become awful. The games are still ok.

I'm such a fan of the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica that whenever someone mentions it in an anime thread before me I get really jealous and pissed-off.

I'm not the kind of guy who ever gets merchandise of certain franchises so I'm never really obsessed over anything.

I'm a huge of the Mass Effect series of video games, despite thinking the third game was quite weak in how it handled the conversation system. I haven't read the books but I have read one of the comic books (which came with the CE of ME2), which was damn awful.

I'm also a big fan of the Indiana Jones movie franchise with Raiders of the Lost Ark being my all-time favorite film closely followed by Last Crusade. Visiting the San Barnaba church in venice used in Last Crusade was a very memorable experience to me. (I also found it interesting that this area in Venice has been modeled perfectly in a fan-made Venice map in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I was standing there and though "Hey, I've been here before.")

Well, let's just say that I mention Scorpion King 3 every single day to at least one person. And try to include it in the majority of my posts here.

Like this one. Right here.

It will become a cult favorite! I will make it so!
And I will never understand your dedication to that film...
Unless watching it scarred you so bad, you now feel the need to inflict your suffering upon others. That's it, isn't it? I'm on to you!

O/T I own collectors editions for Assassins Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations, and will probably get the AC3 one as well. I don't own the first one because I didn't own a PS3 at the time it was released. As flawed as that series is (tower defense anyone?) I still love it.

I'm a pretty hardcore Harvest Moon and Rune Factory fan. I'm trying to collect every single game, I'm only missing about 2 of them now. I used to be a hardcore Silent Hill fan, but then the games got awful and now they want to make a multiplayer game and I just don't like it so I'm going to ignore it and keep playing 1, 2 and 3!
