I take TB's stance on fandom. I like some things a lot, but I won't accept them without criticism, even the things I like most. Fan is short for fanatic and I'm not a true fanatic about anything. For instance, Gundam: I won't talk straight the horridness that were Gundam Seed Density and the second season of 00. I try to maintain a healthy perspective on things.

Mostly in sports is where I'm at my most hardcore.

No matter how little hope people give England; I'll still back them.
No matter how utterly shite Liverpool play and perform; I'll still sit on the Kop and chant and sing.
No matter how many times the Patriots choke in the divisional championships and the superbowl; I'll still eagerly await next season.

In terms of games, I guess I can call myself a huge fan of Final Fantasy and Assasins Creed seeing as I've never missed a flagship title thats been released by them.

Well lets see here

Hardcore Fan:

Mobile Suit Gundam: While I'm more of a Universal Century fan, I usually find something to love in every Gundam series that I considered myself more of a Gundam fan in general rather than a fan of one specific universe (helps keep my sanity when in the more intense debates among Gundam's extremely diverse fanbase). Outside of the anime I also love building Gunpla (gundam plastic model kits).

Metal Gear Solid: Loved pretty much every game and those I didn't I at least enjoyed (haven't play ACID and probably never will since I'm not a fan of card based systems).

Full Metal Panic: Well if you knew what my avatar was then this is pretty obvious. One reason it stood out to me back in 2002 was the fact that it was the first anime I saw that combined mecha and high school comedy.

Halo: I like the video games, but what really made me a hardcore fan of the Halo series was the novels. The novels really helped flesh out the Halo universe and while they're supplement material for the video games, for me it usually felt like the video games were supplementing the novels.

Honorable mentions (things I'm a fan of but not hardcore)

SDF Macross/Robotech

Star Trek

Battle Star Galactica (remake)

Mass Effect

Dragon Age

I suppose I'm a hardcore Warhammer 40,000 fan. I'm into the books and videogames, strangely not the table-top. I wonder why :p. I'm also a massive fanboy of Starship Troopers. I suppose I just want to see the most influential military sci-fi book the limelight it deserves. See what I did there?

I'm hard like a Geodude!

In all seriousness I'm pretty heavy on Tolkien stuff in general, doesn't matter what game it is. If it's Tolkien themed, I'm up for it.

At the moment?

At the moment I watch far to many of paulsoaresjr's Minecraft videos. They're just so funny! Totally addicted. He has re-awakened my obsession with Minecraft!

In general? Ballet. Pointe shoes. I just got new Gaynor Mindens and I am *obsessed* with them (even though after my Blochs they are tough to adjust to...seriously, once you try the GMs the traditional ones seem so...mushy? I swear the GM platforms are mathematically flat...)

I'll stop talking now... ;-)

I don't think I'll call myself a hardcore fan. Mostly because the people who self-describe themselves as such scare me. But I'm a pretty big fan of the
- Legacy of Kain series - If a new LoK related game is announced, it would be a day 1 purchase for me. And I never buy games on day 1 under any other circumstances.
- Half-Life - see above and replace LoK with HL.
- the World of Darkness (and related: Bloodlines) - it's simply impossible for me to have everything, not to mention impractical, since I'll hardly use it, but still, I really enjoy mostly anything WoD related.
- The Dresden Files - day 1 purchase, too. But it's a book, so it's OK.
- and to an extent - the Might & Magic franchise - there are just so many games...and not all of them even good. Still, I've played some games I wouldn't otherwise if it wasn't the M&M in the title. Not that they were that bad, I just wouldn't get them normally. For exacmple Dark Messiah (pretty but a bit lame) and Clash of Heroes (fun game but nothing to write home about).

I also really like other stuff, but I'm not that devoted. Stuff like the ES series and the Warhammer 40K (Dark Heresy is my favourite RPG, ever). I acknowledge their greatness and I like them in general, but I haven't spent the time and effort to go into them deeper.

I guess I'm a hardcore Myst fan.
I've got all five base games plus URU and its expansions, a 10 inch steel replica of the Riven dagger hanging on my wall, and the Myst Reader which includes the three released books.

Oh, and I can do math in D'ni. :D

I saw The Little Mermaid over Thanksgiving break in 1989. A month later, I asked to see it again for Christmas. I owned the VHS the day it was released, and watched it every single day for over a year. Within three years, the VHS was actually destroyed from overuse. I got another copy, and easily have over 200 viewings on that one.

Fast forward to just after high school. After insisting I didn't need a DVD player for years, a friend gifted me a copy of my favorite anime (Please Save My Earth), which did not get a VHS release. So I bought a DVD player. The first DVD I bought for myself? The Little Mermaid. I have two copies of it on DVD now. I have four snowglobes from that movie. Seven Ariel dolls. Enough t-shirts that I could wear a different one each day and not need to do laundry for nearly a month. I have the soundtrack, the soundtrack from the Broadway version, a book telling me all about the Broadway production (since I couldn't afford to go to New York to see it), the DS game, and both sequels. I have statues, paintings, Christmas ornaments, and if I ever get married, I fully intend to do it in a recreation of Ariel's wedding dress. My local Disney Store has me on speed dial, and call to let me know anytime something new comes in.

I've seen the movie over 1,000 times. I have wanted to BE Ariel since that Wednesday afternoon when I was 7 years old.

But when it comes to LiverpoolFC there's nothing else. Don't start an argument with me beacuse I will just flip, especially if it is a drunk fucker who knows nothing about football. Usually at this point I just turn around and walk away because they only look for trouble, very very seldom have I met a person who could debate football in a good way.
Just out of interest, are you English? Because it seems rather odd to me that a Finn would be a massive fan of an English football club.
Metalhead here too :)

Yeah well ever heard of a person called Sami Hyypiä?
One of the best centerbacks in the Premiere League during his time and from 1999-2009 at the Club. My biggest idol when it comes to football and was trained a week by him in 2001 at a football camp and that's when I really started following his game which then also turned me a Liverpool fan. I played the same role as him in my team when I played and he is one of the two good footballers to come from Finland.
Reason enough to be a supporter?
P.S. Been to Anfield 3 times and soon to be a fourth ;)
