How has a game POSITIVELY affected your life?

Fallout helped me think about planning ahead especially with Hardcore mode on NV, take what I need ration what I have make sure I can afford what I don't have but still need above what I want but can still afford.

Zelda helped me meet my girlfriend, which then lead me to deviantART, which then lead me MCM and devMEETs which increased my social skills endlessly.

Gaming in general has increased my imagination and made me more creative.

Games have played a key role in shaping my real-world academic interests. My choice of language class and after-college career plans are indirectly and partially the result of Half-Life 2's setting.

Some of my best writing has been Elder Scrolls fan fiction, which is a shame, because fan fiction can never be recognized as truly good writing.

Quite a few of my visual novels have helped me understand my emotions better.

Tsukihime, in particular, kept me sane during a very stressful time in my life (studying abroad, with massive amounts of schoolwork).

I'm pretty sure gaming has helped me in my Hazard detection portion of my driving test. Unfortunately I have to fight the urge to take a racing line around a corner.

Half Life 2 made me more optimistic, as the details and universe it created made me more introspective on the functionality of human conscience, as well as a creative endeavor's capacity for imagination.
I've played it at least five times a year since 2006, and even on my most recent playthrough I found something I've never seen before.

More VN than game, but When the Seagulls Cry has given me an interesting outlook to reality and its relationship with perception, which in turn has given me the tools to feel much happier about my existence, even when I'm at my most depressed..

I've gotten a lot from games, but it's hard to pin-point it, as it happens sub-consiously.

Well, apart from the improved reflexes and co-ordination shared by any serious gamer (Though, admittedly, to a lesser extent- I'm not actually that good at videogames, guys- don't tell anyone, Our secret.)... it made me more appreciative of the value and impact of a thoughtfully written narrative (As well as the damage caused by a narrative churned out as an afterthough)

I do read a lot less now, though. It's a shame, but I never seem to find the time, especially with Steam sales. It's like a new game every week or so!

I made all but one of my close friends on World of Warcraft.

Playing games at a young age boosted my vocabulary and reading comprehension significantly.

I had a cherished moment with my Mom when we played Zelda: The Wind Waker together when it just came out and I was 9ish. It's now one of my favorite games. Even though she probably doesn't even remember it, I will never forget conquering Dragonroost Cavern with her.

Many games helped me develop my reflexes.

And problem solving skills.

Extreme boost to degree of open-mindedness in all things.

Video Games have made me a monster....in BC2! man I grew up with the games that just gave you better hand eye coordination and a need to save the world(I love you Final Fantasy III/VI). back in the old days of the mid nineties(I kid) games were meant to be played with a bunch of homeys. Goldeneye Super Smash bros and final fantasy ruled my teen years and kept me from lighting stuff on fire. Ok so we still lit stuff on fire. brake fluid and chlorine...hoo wee that's great stuff!
