This is my first post on this site so cut me some slack if it's a repost. But I digress, in what ways has the recession affected you personally? Mine would have to be my hours getting cut back, the constant threat of getting shitcanned, and having to cut my gaming budget in half :(, Share your stories and vent amigos.

Well I graduate from College in May and finding a job is hell! I don't think I could have picked a worse time to be entering the working world! Seriously if anyone knows of companys hiring let me know, I would love to be employed by the time I graduate!

No one around me is hiring. Not even McD's.
Please, in my neighborhood, there was a sign a "NOw Hiring" sign at a McDonald's, and four hundred people applied.

I lost my part-time job at KFC, and no one in the area was hiring so I couldn't afford to live in the UK any more. Had to drop out of college and move to India to live with my mum since it's a lot cheaper to live here. But hey, who needs a degree, eh? :(

Yea I'm on high alert wondering everyday if I'm going to have a job due to the lack of a budget, at the school I work for. And I'm worried when I finish college I wont be able to find a job in my field and have to go back to fast food or landscaping to make ends meet.

Decided to join the army before Britain was officially declared as being in recession. Now it just seems like a better idea. I mean, its definably more "stable" than a regular job at the moment, risk of death aside.

Living up in Canada, I haven't been hit that hard. I just had some trouble finding a part-time job to rake in some money during college. I live in a part of Canada that is notorious for job openings, before the recession, if you put out ten resumes, you'd get nine offers.

Getting a good job that I like, that doesn't involve a take-away store in incredibly difficult for me now. I'm actually going to do work experience soon at a computer store, at least that's something.

Nope, not at all. I've got a good job, and most people around me don't have any trouble getting work either. I'm thanking my lucky stars I'm not in the States right now though.

It hasn't, but that's because I have no financial responsibilities, I have no car so no payments or insurance to worry about I have free rent as long as I do all of the house work which isn't that much so that's cool, although that's soon to change when I start college in the fall, yay student loans, but as of this moment all of my funds are pissed away on videogames or non-essential shit that I get bored with in a couple of days.

I'm currently working on my College stuff, but I'll be feeling the pinch of the recession in a year or two (when I have to get to job to pay for things.) Finding a job is gonna be a huge pain, unless things get better.

The price of 1L of chocolate milk rose from $1 to $1.19

You'd probably think I was joking if you didn't know me better...

I consider myself lucky: after a successful stint in the U.S. Army, I'm now going to school on the G.I. Bill, and am able to be a full-time student. Hopefully the recession will be over by the time I'm done with my degree, or else I might have to keep taking classes just so I can keep using my G.I. Bill.
