So far I'm not effected but I decided to cut budget on everything and cancel my WoW subscription since I got bored of it a few months ago. My parents so far still got high paying jobs so for now my family's ok.

I have been jobseeking since November last year. I have had three get back to me for an interview, a few did me the courtesy of calling me to say that I wasn't what they were looking for, and none have hired me.
Since they all complimented me on my resume, I doubt that's the problem. So I blame the recession.

I reenlisted for 3 years.

*dies a bit inside*

That'll teach me not to have a game plan, and to use Tuition Assistance before I have less than a year on my contract, which is when the "free college while Active Duty" no longer applies. Fun Fact!

I feel for everyone losing their jobs.

I work for the government on a decent salary so my jobs fairly secure. Ive noticed my mortgage has gone down, I couldnt rent for what Im paying, and things are cheaper in the shops.

Im not happy theres talk of public sector pay freezes though. For years when the economy was booming our pay rises were below the rate of inflation to "control" inflation. Now theres no need they want to stop them. Our pays been held back in the good times and it seems will never catch up.

I am currently waiting for the right moment to invest my earned savings on stocks and hope to reap nice profits on within 15 years. Since my company actually needs to hire craploads of more people, I propably wont be affected that much.

It hasn't had much of an affect on me. About the only problems I've had personally is trying to offload one of my houses. No bastard wants to buy it at the moment. Most people I know haven't been affected in any way either, except one friend who was made redundant twice in a year who worked for small businesses. Sucks to be her. But she's got another job already and it's better than her last one, so I guess it didn't really affect her that badly anyway.

It's not had *too* much of an affect on me. I was skint before it kicked in, I'm still skint now. I was jobhunting before it arrived and I'm still jobhunting now. But at least I can afford to eat. That's nice.

Hardly effected.

I've been working here for 10+ years, so it's pretty rock solid at the moment.

Living in Omaha, Nebraska where one in every 100 people is making over $100k a year ... yeah, we haven't been hit at all.

Well I graduate from College in May and finding a job is hell! I don't think I could have picked a worse time to be entering the working world! Seriously if anyone knows of companys hiring let me know, I would love to be employed by the time I graduate!
Same for me :( I'm busy with my graduation internship at the moment, I enquired what the chances are for me getting a job at this company. Needless to say, my chances were slim at most. A good time to invest in my own knowledge, and follow a master's degree I guess, though I'd prefer to work.

Lets see, I lost my 'proper' job shortly before christmas. Which was £300-450 a week down the drain. Leaving me reliant of commisioned artwork and part time bicycle mechanic work. It's enough to live on/pay rent etc but there's not much money for fun stuff at the moment...

Well I spent a small fortune on an awesome snowboarding holiday at New Years and I'm still in dept now. This wouldn't have been a problem last year because I could have had as much overtime as I needed, and I would have be out of the red in no time.
However, there's a block on overtime so I've had to dramatically cut my spending down. I'm not a fan to be honest, I've always been quite care free with money, oh well, it's a good way to learn.

I completely understand! I looked at grad school as well, but figured that this wasn't the time to be going into debt either . . . so I'm still applying and looking. Good luck to you!
