Edit to cover your edit: There's a metric fuckton of nerdy girls on here, a fair few of whom are single and most of whom are, if not around your age, at least within five or six years, nothing too far off the mark. You're looking in the right place...and probably getting warmer.

Prepared mind indeed. My courting attempts so far has a failure rate of 100%. Maybe im doing something wrong methinks after the last attempt. So now all im doing is gathering info on how to court? Seriously though, it sounds simple enough, ask X amount of girls until success. Go on dates. Done. I have my interests currently, but they are good friends of mine and im afraid of repercussions.

That's the funny thing about relationships. There are so many inflection points where if something isn't right, the whole thing crashes down on itself. Two months when the infatuation wears off, six when there's that "wait, are we serious?" moment, a few years when it's "we either get married or we don't but I don't want to wait forever", the wedding day itself, the seven-year itch, the empty-nest day when the last kid heads off for college...

It's a wonder any couple ever gets from "hi, I'm ______" to "the old folks home just isn't the same since she passed away after we'd been together 50 years".

Last time I heard, women didn't want malefic, grotesque sacks of flesh with personalities to match. Kind of a mood-killer when you have to explain to everybody that your choice of romantic partner wasn't entirely out of pity.

(That said, I'm not quite that malefic, grotesque sack of flesh, and women have actually found me attractive on some sort of level. Even if it's mostly physical, I'll take that with some sort of optimism.)

There's hope for you yet, friend. Especially since you reveal more than you realize about your psyche by coming into relationship thread after relationship thread, even if it is to play the Statler and Waldorf role.
