I'm still in the process of getting over someone - it has been nearly six months now. Perhaps dating someone else might actually help you forget about the last one a lot quicker. I can't do that myself, seeing as how I'll be moving in less than a year and moving long distances have ruined all my previous relationships, so I'd rather not bother.

Took me four months. Still coming back around to "normal", but damned close.

I have a new lover, now, to help my get over it... her name is Natalya, and she's a 995ts carbine. The time we spend at the range is magical, and makes all the worries of my past melt away... sigh...

You're gonna have depression spells for the rest of your life when the moment strikes you hard enough, though, so, uh... enjoy that, too.
Not to be rude and all, but Natalya is about the single ugliest thing I have seen in my life.

It's been 3 years and a half and there's one thing I never got over. There's a girl with the most perfect eyes, hair, smile and everything. I really thought that she was perfect...and then I screwed up.

However, there's one thing more heartbreaking than being rejected. It's too realize that the perfect person wasn't perfect at all. That underneath that blanket of comfort she gave me at first, there was knife waiting to pludge itself at the moment that I least expected it and when I was truly in need of someone to be there for me.

If you want to know the short version, she didn't wanted to be pillow to cry on. I screwed up because I got angry. After that, she cheated on me.

Longest: about three weeks.
Shortest : Several nanoseconds - I was literally jumping for joy after she broke up with me.

I end up being friends with those I desire, kind of sad and funny... except for my current girlfriend, I just hope that if this relationship ends it will be on good terms so we can be friends and have no regrets.

never really had to get over a relationship.

Sounds like my ideal gal, nothing relaxes me more than a day's shooting.

It takes 7-10 days for all of the THC to leave your body after smoking marijuana. I don't know if that's what your talking about, though.

For a myriad of reasons, I had to break up with a girl several years ago and I still feel for her even now. I mean, it's not a searing emptiness anymore, but it's certainly still a dull ache.

On the other hand, my buddy just broke it off with a long term girlfriend, and he's right back in the game, so it depends the type of person you are and how you feel/felt about them.

You fluctuate between loathing/rage/hate to remorse/guilt/shame depending on how deeply you let them into your life. The worst break-ups are the ones that turn out to be publicity stunts for Dante's Inferno.

...also, you find yourself using humor (like so) to hide the pain.

Well mine was a couple of weeks, maybe you could be lucky and she'll log onto your facebook and send herself mean messages then try to get your ass busted for it, but being a dumb ass, forget facebook has IP logins on record! Sorry that was anger speaking. . . You never truley lose it. especially if you part ways after. Nothing replacing what he/she was and it lingers. In w/e case, the feeling goes, but the memories don't and tend to bring with them horrid past pains.

I believe what someone once told me, it won't mostly leave until the next one. Sadly, it's true, and while thinking of them as replaceable is mean. Truth is, they weren't right for you after all so, YEA they kinda are.

She didn't let me down easy.

When I told her I thought I loved her, she laughed and said she could never love someone like me.

I hope she dies of AIDS
I can ensure that *brandishes syringe*

OT: I got over her rather quickly. But I was the dumper so...that probably effected it.

rule of thumb is however long you were together, thats how long it takes to get over

tho i guess my breakup was pretty gentle, and it still took me a while to Completely get over her, to the point where we could be friends again
