I recently bought Prototype, and within a week, I had finished it. My brother calls me a freak and says "There was no point in buying it if you're just gonna finish it"
So my question to you good people is, how long should it have taken me?
I think you need to drop a dollar on the floor, tell your brother he can have it and when he bends over present him with kick in the ass for being stupid.

I stayed up all night playing Burnout Paradise and got up to the A license. Did not sleep and just made breaks to eat and to go to the bath. You are not a freak. Just someone really excited about the game. Do not take into account everything your brother spits out of his mouth. He is your brother after all and you know what they say: slow rivers run deep. He didn't mean it, I am sure 100%. I always swear my little bro but I do not mean it.

And about the game, depends totally on the kind of game. Something like Fallout 3 for example can last weeks, especially if you wanna find something like the MIRV. Check the meaning on the word nerd if you want and you will see that it is not what you think it is.

I beat Gears of War II, by myself, on Hardcore, in less then a day, non-stop.

I am the freak.

I don't think you can really say freak. I mean, maybe someone with too much free time (Like me). The think I find funny is the quote you gave us, "There was no point in buying it if you're just gonna finish it"
That doesn't make sense. You buy games to play through them and beat them. I am curious if your brother just plays a game for a small amount of time and never goes back to it jsut not to finish it.
Back to the main point though, I will have to pretty much agree with the opinons of everyone who posted before me.

hey I beat BioShock in 3 and a half days. the guy at Gamestop couldn't believe me when I came back in to trade it in so soon. IMO, it depends on how much free time you have on your hands. For instance, I was on Spring Break when I got BioShock.
yeah. there are alot of teen's out there with alot of free time that live in a small town with nothing too do. kinda like me. it sucks but meh that's what video games are for :)

He's a person who plays a game that he has some interest in.
If he likes it, he'll play it a couple more times. You remember Halo 3?
He hasn't finished that.
The last game he finished waaaaaaaaas....CoD: WaW, and that was just to play Nazi Zombies

Agreed. Long or short, it's about your enjoyment of it. I guess if the box says "20 hours of gameplay" and you beat it in a day, people are going to assume you don't sleep. But if you are happy, who cares?

I can't stand it when people say shit like that. I'm sorry man, no offense to you or your family, but go kick your brother in the nuts.

Prototype kicks ass and I still play it all the time even after I finished after only 2 days. Why should they care? Its not their game, its not their money, and you can do whatever the fuck you want with it! I'm not really ever one who rents games, I always ask one of my friends who works at gamestop and he'll tell me whats worth buying.

I remember when I bought Assassin's Creed and I finished it the day I got it, but it was still worth every cent I paid for it because it was just flat out fun. It doesn't matter how long a game is. If it keeps you entertained, then its good.

Sorry to rant, but I just really hate it when people say that to me. It's like they just have to have their opinion heard even if it's at the other's expense. You don't control me!! A man chooses and a slave obeys!

Sorry about that, got a little carried away.

I crashed through Final Fantasy IV in five days, about five hours per, and while it probably didn't work out very well as far as bang for the buck went, what was I supposed to do? Play it for an hour at a time only on every other Thursday just to drag it out?

I cant remember any game that took me longer than a day and night to finish.
Which is annoying.
Especially in FPS's when Im watching the credits roll within 24 hours, screaming
"IS THERE NO-ONE ELSE?" Like Achilles did.

I even completed GTA4 the night I got it, including side-quests and getting to level 4 online.
Which is why Im getting Disgaea 3, which will take me 2 years at best.

I finished it the day after i got it, its short but theres lots to do outside of the missions. (and you can always do it again on a harder difficulty)
