Shooter was described as being a young male.
He's dead and had ID on him. So far they've said he's 42. Don't listen to the news yet till they get enough actual facts to report.

It's happening/happened about twenty miles south of me.

Of course. Because those yoga positions are damned hard, man. And the running in place? WHEW. I'm surprised there haven't been more shootings.

On a more serious note, someone some WHERE will find a way to pin this on video games. There's gotta be a scape goat somewhere. What game they'll pin it on, though... I have no idea.

It was all because he played too much Dance Dance Revolution.
On a somewhat off-topic but funny note,

So... I think it's a foregone conclusion that games shall be blamed, but who doy uo think will first point the finger? I'm guessing either Thompson or Fox news.

I knew that thing was nothing but trouble.
Angry mob time! *grabs torch and pitchfork*
Let's kill the makers of all the crappy Wii "games" and start pumping out some good ones ourselves.

Guns dont kill people. People kill people. Guns help people kill people with smaller guns.
I honestly don't see how casual or even moderate gaming can cause frenzies like this (I mean, even after Far Cry 2 crashed on me for the umpteenth time did my blood boil, but never terribly so). I would understand if they had a mental illness, but why let them play in the first place?

Plus this stuff usually starts with the parents. I know quite a few people who were brought up fairly well, and they're now upstanding citizens who take responsibility. On the other hand, I have also seen white trash kids who grew up with bad parenting, and most of them are at the bottom of the barrel of society, beating other students up almost daily just because they may not like them.

Video games will be blamed for this as long as these to conditions are met:

1:Someone who wasn't sane in the first place kills some people.

2:Someone else is either moronic enough,or desperate for a scapegoat, who sees a connection between the murderer and video games.

in a study in canada (where i live) in 2003, there was found to be 28 violent incidents resulting in death where video games were a major factor, in 27 of those incidents, the games were played by the victim, not the perpetrator.
