It all depends.stok3r said:How many albums do you own? That is physical CDs/Vinyls, not downloads
Also not counting EPs, compilation albums (ie best ofs or record label ccompilations) or singles. But OSTs and remix albums (as in albums remixs, not remix compilations. ie Year Zero Remixed or Silent Alarm Rimixed) are okay.
Where do you work that you need that many CDs?BonsaiK said:It all depends.stok3r said:How many albums do you own? That is physical CDs/Vinyls, not downloads

If I count CDs and 12" vinyl in my personal home collection, probably about 450 CDs and maybe 50 vinyls.
If I then add all the CDs that I have in my house for various "work reasons", then probably add anywhere between 100 and 1000 CDs depending on how much I'm working. The more I work, the less CDs there are because they tend to build up if I do nothing, because I get sent shit all the time.
I also have about 200 cassettes and some stuff on reels, plus a bunch of computer files which are pre-masters and stuff usually in .wav format and that also fluctuates wildly. Right now my hard drive is just about full because there's a bunch of different projects on it which are all coming out at about the same time. I don't really have MP3s though, the only MP3s I own are things I've burnt from my own CD collection. File sharing is for terrorists.
I work for a radio station and also with labels. I don't in fact need that many CDs, in fact I probably need about 1/50th of what I'm sent, however there is no option where I can tell my distributors "can you please only send me good things that interest me and not send 20 copies of some new album of yours that sucks piles of dick just because you want to promote it", because distro labels naturally think everything they distribute is hot shit. Also, I can't very well tell new talent to not send me shit because for every 500 CDs that come through that are garbage, one of them might potentially not suck and I don't want to miss that one.stok3r said:Where do you work that you need that many CDs?BonsaiK said:It all depends.stok3r said:How many albums do you own?
