Hello again fellow Escapists,

Bad title references aside, quite a while ago [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.866040-How-many-anime-characters-can-you-recognize] I posted a list of anime characters and asked people to try and identify them. I thought it was fun and I even watched some of the animes people brought up. So I figured I'd try this again.

I've made two lists of 10 anime characters one for beginners and another for more avid anime watchers. Full points for knowing both the character and series. Give yourself half a point for knowing one or the other. For images with more than one character naming either is fine for the point. If any of the images are broken try giving the link a try but if you have to use one of the links be mindful that the URLs often give away the answer.

1. Please include answers to your list
2. Try to use major characters from a series. They don't need to be the main characters but at least someone who is easily recognized.
3. Try to format your list in a similar fashion to my own. Helps save me some time.

On the first list, 3 I recognized by name, two more by show.

On the second list, I only recognized one by name, but only because I read the manga,not the anime.

So... 3/10 and 0/10. AM I not allowed to identify as a geek anymore?

Character 3 - L from Death Note

Character 4 - Edward from Full Metal Alchemist

Character 5 - no idea

Character 6 - no idea but I've seen her somewhere, I think. Somebody might have had her as an avatar.

Character 7 - Ichigo Kurusaki from Bleach.

Character 8 - no idea

Character 9 - that guy from Gurren Laggen. Can't remember his name.

Character 10 - no idea.

Character 6 - no idea but I know the name of the anime - Parasyte. That GIF is pretty much the only scene I've seen from it.

If you count recognising the anime as half a point, then my results are 3.5 and 2.5, respectivelly

Well I got 9/10 on the Beginner list and 10/10 on the Advanced list. And even though I count 9 I do know the Digimon character just not his name. I never really did like Digimon though.

But I wouldn't be too bothered. Anime's not everyone's cup of tea and there's so much of it out that not knowing 20 random shows someone on the internet remembers probably doesn't mean that much.

Got 8/10 on beginner list, 3.5./10 on advanced and 4/10 on the other one, that said 2-3 anime names I kinda guessed without having watched them because I had read about them on myanimelist and and the screencap matched the visual style or the character seemed similar to the one described in review. Kinda disappointed that many works that I'd thought were iconic of the genre were missing. Maybe will get down to making my list if this thread is still alive by the time I have motivation.

Anyways, I recognize and know who Tai is, I just didn't remember his name so didn't count him.
