Get a marginal discount off another game and I don't get the opportunity to relive an awesome experience... serious lose lose situation if you ask me.
I know what you mean. The only time I've ever traded in a game is when I hated it. I tend to go through older games once the excitement wears off. Hell, about a week ago, I was playing through Paper Mario 2.

Eek, probably about 200, including ps1 games...

I've got lots of games on Steam, as I usually buy them on massive-discount deals and, of course, everyone knows that money spent on the internet isn't real money.

LOTS. Ya want me to get into the numbers? Too bad. I've been playing video games since I was five, though, so I've managed to acrue the use of an Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, Playstations 1 through 3, and my computer, which emulates Nes, SNES, Gameboy, and Genesis, as well as plays actual computer games. As for specific amounts on all? Here's a 'rundown'.

Atari 2600 - Lots, all working, including the system.
Gameboy - Plenty, all emulated.
NES - A few, all emulated.
SNES - Plenty, all emulated.
Genesis - A few, all emulated as of this time. (Had to sell the console/games.)
Dreamcast - Missing, presumed dead. (Actually, I gave it to someone else.)
Playstation - Original PSX console in working order, lots of games.
PS2 - Original PS2 console in working order, lots of games.
PS3 - 60-Gigabyte console with full range of backwards compatibility, a few games.
Computer - Sporting a range of modern to classic games, plus the emulators.

(Note: There's only a few PS3 games because of college bills and the fact that I'm working on RPGs, which last a long ass time.)

This'll be a doozy.

XBox 360: 10
DS: Approximately 20
GBA: Appx. 10
GabeBoy Color: Appx. 10
Gamecube: Appx 20
Wii: Appx. 15
PS2: 2
PS One: 5
PC: 51 on Steam, Add A digital Download of Fallout, plus 35 CD games. So... 87

Total: 169. Maybe 170 today, As I plan on buying Red Alert 3.

Lets see, not counting the games I have for C64 (stacks of disks with dozens of games on them each) I've got around 280 games over 10 systems. Not counting things like Virtual Console and XBLA downloads. I have approximately 50 games for the PS2, 30 for Gamecube, EXACTLY 3 for the Atari 2600, 30 for the original NES, 20 for the genesis, EXACTLY 3 for the 32X, 20 for Saturn, 20 for dreamcast, 30 for DS, 10 for the GBA, 10 for Gameboy, 20 for PSP, and about 40 for PC. VC downloads and XBLA will definitely put me at the 300 mark.

Is this disgusting? I never stopped to think about this, but I have LOTS of games. This right here represents well over $10,000 worth of games. In fact, if every game I bought was priced at 50 dollars, that would be $15k! Albeit I try to buy a lot of my games used, but still... It's something I've never really thought about.

The only thing that redeems this to me is that I have significantly more books.

I have more than 350 games (handheld games included but I don't count games I bought via PSN, Xbox Live and VC) and I own 23 consoles (handhelds and add ons not included).

The most games are PS2 games (about 75).

Here is the list of the consoles. I don't want to list all the games:

- Atari 2600, 5200, 7800 and Jaguar
- NES, SNES, N64, GameCube and the Wii
- Sega Master System, Genesis/Megadrive, Saturn and the Dreamcast
- PSone, PS2 and PS3
- Xbox and Xbox 360
- Colecovision
- Intellivision
- Neo Geo
- CDi
- 3DO

Oh and I'm 19.

51 PS2, 34 Xbox, 15 NES, 20 SNES, 9 Gamecube. Probably bought about 40 last gen games in 2008 because of the huge price drop.

also, pics would make this thread epic.

I just moved back into my uni house after the Winter break, and have rearranged the furniture and bought a TV for my room. With all I need to game now in my bedroom, I decided to shift all my games in there too. It made me realise I might have a few too many. 123 to be exact.
66 Xbox
17 Xbox 360
7 Gamecube
20 PC
13 Saturn

Made me wonder; is this a lot considering I'm an adult gamer who has been employed a couple of times? How many do you guys have in your collection? And do you trade in? (I don't). And for what systems do you still have games for?

Edit: Also, if you were forced to trade in all your games but one, what would you keep?
For me, it's be Max Payne 1 on Xbox.
you still own a saturn? you rock man
lets see i will say 30 xbox games
20 PC games
5 GBA games. the one I would keep would probably be Phantasy Star Online episode 1 and 2.

I'm the type of person who buys games, beats them, and then either sells them, trades them in or gives them to a friend as a gift. I only keep the ones that I think are the best. So right now...

360 - Six games.
PS3 - Three Games.
PC - Only demos so far (Only recently got a PC that can handle newer games)

I have countless games for Xbox, PS2, PS, N64, GameCube, Saturn, Genesis and SNES at home, but none here with me. The reason I still have them and didn't sell them is because I only recently started this trend of beating them and getting rid of them.
