How many games do you typically have going at once?

This wasn't a problem when I was a kid as I only had a handful of games. Getting a new game was always a rare and exciting occasion. I'd get it home and pop it in immediately and play it.

But, nowadays with the combination of having more money to spend and game prices dramatically dropping just after a few months I have amassed quite a backlog.

I used to just jump from game to game, but now I am trying to focus on just one at a time. Although I'm considering perhaps making it two or three of different genres to keep things interesting.

Do you jump around randomly and just play whatever you feel like at the time, or do you take a more focused approach?

Oh god... I think my backlog is gonna go and gain sentience whenever i'm not looking.

So far I have *ahem* (this is gonna be a long one kids!)

Bayonetta, Catherine, MGS3, MGS2, Deus Ex, that package of 8ish Star Wars games that was on Steam sale a while ago, assorted Wii games (4 of them), Okami, ICO... Oh and i'm not counting anything i'm replaying as well.

This is while still playing UMVC3 every day to keep my decentness intact and i've an anime backlog to watch as well (albeit a small one)

As for my approach it's "well time to try X again after some UMVC3!" *plays UMVC3 all night then watches anime*

Definitely a focused approach.

I usually have 3 or 4 games going at once (e.g. Right now I've got Skyrim, AC: Brotherhood and Rayman Origins) and if I have that many I'm already playing I'm not tempted to buy other games, but if a game comes out that I really want, I'll buy it. If 20 games I want come out, I'd buy them all as soon as possible.

My friend has the whole "I'm waiting for it to drop in price before I buy it" approach, which I could never handle. I will buy any game that interests me, it's just that if I have 3 or 4 games I'm alternating between, then I'm much less likely to go looking at other games to buy anyway.

I play whatever I feel like playing. I'll usually be replaying 4-5 different games.

Right now I'm somewhere in the middle of AC2, Skyrim, ME1, Bioshock2 Minerva's Den.

I usually have a batch of about two or three bought and played at the same time. If I haven't finished a game when I get started on the next batch of two or three I generally just lose interest in it and don't bother going back.
First World problems. I have too many games to play.

This is exacly the problem i have . Can anyone tell me why UMVC3 is so addictive? I just love curbstomping people woh my x-23, doom ,storm ... They fit together so well!

I usually just play one game at a time , then i started UMVC3 . So not wanting to let my skills get rusty i play everyday . Then i started to play FFXII-2 , i didn't like it but i still intend to finish it , then i started Singularity for a change of pace , the. I bought blazblue . So now i have four games i am playing , but the most important is still UMVC3.

loads but I kinda just stop playing certain games

my games being played right now are Portal 2 (but only when my co-op buddy feels like playing), Skyrim (but only in the wait for Mass Effect 3) and Persona Portable (but only when I'm travelling)

Just finished Catherine and the other 2 Mass Effects but I'm starting to focus, 3 games at a time, one co-op, one single player and one for travel...

I've set up a list of games to play in an order which will only be disrupted by certain releases or purchases jumping to the front, my to play list is now: Skate 2, Vanquish, Project Sylpheed, Resonance of Fate, Nier and The Last Remnant.

Games that will jump to the top of the list are Mass Effect 3, Binary Domain and Final Fantasy XIII-2

I generally only try to keep one game to play while I constantly rotate between online BF3 and FIFA. At the moment it's SSX but I also have Skyrim, Condemned and New Vegas all to play properly.

Don't even get me started on my PC backlog, I have about 4 saves of old CRPG's like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape going on as well as a new found love in Company of Heroes which I'm trying to wrap my head around.

Uh.... Let me go check my box of games I've bought but haven't got around to playing yet.

....

Yeah, it is pretty fucking big.

Deus Ex : HR
Mass Effect 2 (again, in prep for the next game)
Mass Effect 3
Assassins Creed
Skyrim
BioShock
Crysis
Crysis 2
Dark Void
Kingdoms of Amalur
The Guild 2

....

Christ I need to stop buying every game that goes on sale anywhere.

Well for me, it's still because Phoenix Wright is just so damn cool. Nobody else plays him so go no mirror matches ever! Good thing cuz PW mirror matches always take place in some bizarre plane of existance where nothing makes sense.

Fun fact: If a Lvl 3 X Factor Ace Attorney hits a full health Akuma he dies about halfway through it. Apparently he's just that squishy. Hilarious timing in that game though, he throws a mid air hyper at me on incoming (last character style), counter with Ace Attorney and watch the destruction.

In fact Lvl 3 X factor Ace Attorney just about kills anything on its own. It's around 1.2 million damage.

Running Phoenix Wright on point (because seriously you can't have him anywhere else and expect to do anything) X-23 with her invincible Hyper and amazing rushdown and Doctor SWAG Vergil with teleports and ludicrous damage.

I'll be damned if I can come up with a team name though.

Usually only one or two, depending on when they come out. I buy usually less than 10 games a year, so outside of rare occasions where two come out at like the exact same time, I have plenty of time to play them.

Anywhere from 1-3 not including random games I'll try that were on sale on steam/cheap at EB. Me and a group of three others also tend to have about 1-2 different coop games we're trying to finish whenever we end up having some free time.

It's all about trying to squeeze in what I can get and I only seem to beat the games that can keep me interested. It doesn't help I play plenty of genres and lose interest in some games quickly due to repetitiveness or familiarization with other games. I say to myself I'll go back to some of them but as my PC/console library grows that becomes more difficult as it's already hard to keep up with the release of new games that peak my interests.

I play Mass Effect 3, when there is a break in the action I take a turn in Final Fantasy Tactics, check in on Tribal Wars, do anything that needs done in Farmville and get back to ME3...all the while TF2 is idling in the background...

Oh...you meant how many games I am working towards beating... >.>...<.<

I've always been focused, but lately I've been jumping from title to title.
I still have an unfinished playthrough of Silent Hill 3 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy, mostly because Crusader Kings 2 absorbed my free time (what little I have).

Generally 3 or 4, but thats considering i play games in the total war series and also city builders, so its not to hard to keep up.... Though i imagine with mass effect 3, il probably drop everything and focus on that. My uni work is going to suffer over the next month. :S

Oh dear..... more that I'd care to admit.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Skyrim
Borderlands- Mad Moxxi DLC
Dark Souls
Pokemon Black
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Parasite Eve

That be all I believe. Takes me forever to finish a game sometimes, and normally I have a few going on at a time but I need to get my backlog under control.

I usually play through two or three at a time so I don't spread myself too thin and can get through my current playthroughs quickly and decisively. Definitely keeps my schedule in circulation.
