Now this is a response to the poll so far of the "Should I buy Black Ops?" topic, and saw the majority said no.

Now I am not trying to be offensive or mean to anyone (sorry if it comes off what way) but of the people who said No, have most of you played the game? I mean if you have, and didn't like it, fair game, but if you said No just because its COD, thats kind of stupid imo...

So have the majority of nay sayers actually played the game?

I haven't posted on any Black Ops related threads before this one so I can calmly say that I haven't played the game and at this point I'm pretty indifferent about it.

I just got it, I bought it by doing a logo for a friend. Ahhhh favors. I can't wait to play it I loved World at War and I hope this is more of that.

Edit: MAJOR complaint even before I play the game, it comes in a flimsy shitty Eco-box. A box type that already broke one of my games previously so this is quite annoying. But that's not marks against the game as it is marks against Activision.

I picked it up a few hours ago, and I've done a bit of playing (just single player so far, so I may come back bitching about the multiplayer later). So far, it's pretty solid. It's a bit frenetic and can be hard to follow when you've got explosions going off all around you, but it's pretty thrilling and fun.

Also, the new zombies are even better than before. I look forward to gathering some friends and ripping through the undead.

I played the first couple of levels on a friend's 360.

It was... well... it wasn't terrible.

I didn't respond no, but my buddy has it and he is fucking hooked on the single campaign alone, though apparently while on multiplayer last night a shit ton of players were online so a good chance most of those people were just slandering it for being CoD.

Unfortunately for me from what i have read it's based on real events, so unlike MW2 which is a make believe story, I'm not gonna be able to pick it up.

I know, i know, I'm weird and crazy, I just don't like games based on true events.

Its event's that could have happened. When they were talking to real Black Operatives, they told about the type of missions that possibly could have happened. Though for the most part the time period is real events so...

I bought the game today, very exciting, the only thing I don´t like is that the manual is only 8 pages long.

That be the clincher for me.

As said I know i'm weird and crazy, but that sorta thing kinda gnaws on me. When i play a game based on real events all i can think about is the people I am shooting and what they represent.

Men who have families, men who might be fighting despite not having the choice, or conversely men who are fighting because they believe so much in what they are doing.

These thoughts bog down, i feel guilty, and can't play.

I know it's just a game, but I'm a very odd person. Even if the game is balls to the walls awesome my overactive mind ***** slaps me back to feeling guilty.

Yeah, I'm nuts, gonna go back to me corner...

I just played it for around 9 hours straight (online and offline), and I'd say it's absolutely my favorite Call of Duty since Call of Duty 2.

getting it friday maybe. So far I'm wondering if I really should, all the videos I've seen have the same issue i saw with WAW. ...The sound. It's terrible. Nothing has any kick to it. That really bothers me when I can breathe over my gunshots.

Well, for $60 I was hoping for a little more than that. But the game makes up for the crappy manual.

Not that I was one of the people complaining about it, but I just bought the game, and I'm about to play it right now.

I paid $100 for it and I bought it solely for the single-player campaign. We'll see how it goes once I've beaten it in about... say, 6 hours or so. Then we'll see if the campaign is meaty enough to warrant at least half the price.

Damn games are so short these days...

I agree. I miss the days when manuals were quite big. I have a black box filled with game manuals ranging from Crysis to Dawn of War to Diablo 2 (as in, the older big manual, not the smaller manual they later started chucking into the game boxes), most of which have tens of pages and a few of which are nicely thick such as the vanilla WoW manual.

Ah well, at least Black Ops actually came with a manual, paltry as it was. Unlike Modern Warfare 2, which didn't come with a manual. Lame.

But on the other hand, I lament the fact that manuals these days are usually nothing more than installation instructions and customer service contact information.

Ive been playing the game for a few hours now, and I quite like it. The single player is fun, the multiplayer is great (and all those ppl complaining about "OMGZ SNIPING IS WORTHLESS OH NOES AND THE KILLSTREAKS ARE UNFAIR", chill out...sniping works fine and when has luck never been part of a game) and the Zombies...hell yeah!

I was one of the few who allowed myself to think that maybe it might be good, so I won't judge it. Turns out I was right:)
