Im bored and curious to know , how many years have people on the escapist been gaming, its not necessary to put your actual age if you dont want to, but how many years since your started playign video games. Also what is the first game you REMEMBER finishing and the last game you finished.

So my three questions are :

a) For how many years have you been playign video games
b) What is the first game you REMEMBER finishing
c)what is the last game you finished

I am 22 years old , and i'd say ive been gaming for 17 years, thus since i was 5 ( thanks dad for liking video games ). The first game i finished alone was Mario 3 , apparently according to my father i finished it for the 1st time when i was 3 , but the first game i remember finishing was Goof troops on the snes when i was 5. The last game i finished was L.A Noire.

Your turn

Edit: i just remembered a game i beat before goof troops, altered beast on the sega , i cant believe i forgot that one , i must have been what 4 ? lol so that adds a year to my 17 years making it 18 xD

can't say exactly how long I've been gaming for,but it was when my family first got a good old NES one year.first game I finished was either Super Mario Bros. or Double Dragon,I don't recall which.
unfortunately I have a severe case of gaming ADD right now,so I haven't completed a major game for a while.I'm extremely far advanced through Blood Bowl:LE,most of the way through Boredomlands(won't count it complete till I finish all the DLC),and I'm just starting on DnD:Daggerdale and Witcher2.

14 years for me. Started on the Atari 2600 and NES. I started with games that only did high scores, finishing wasn't possible. I remember beating Mario as a kid, so lets go with that. I just beat New Vegas again.

I'm 23, and I started with the Original NES back when I was eight, so 15 years. I think the first game I can remember playing was the original Original Super Mario Bros. The most recent that I've finished was LA Noire.

If we're counting Putt Putt on PC I first played (and finished, huzzah mad skills) that when I was 3. 22 now so that was 19 years ago? Good grief.

Realistically my Dad got a Master System when I was 4/5ish and it had the MS version of Sonic the Hedgehog built in - that was the first proper game I played, and I *think* it was the first game I finished.

I'm Seventeen, got my first Xbox about a month after my Sixteenth birthday, so... About a Year. My gamer birthday must be soon.

I always loved my Gameboy though, and I had played Star Wars Battlefront and X-men Legends on my PS2 before that, but I'd have never really been all that into games. I just fucking loved pokemon on my GBA SP.

First game I remember finishing was my Brother's Pokemon Yellow. By finish I mean beat the Elite Four. We'd been trying for ages and he only let be play his gameboy rarely (He was always convinced I'd break it, and to be fair I break lots of things) so it was extra awesome that on one of those "Eh, may as well give it a try" attempts I finally KOed that damn Flareon and won. It was an awesome brother moment as we watched our pokemon get entered into the hall of fame.

The last game I beat was... Oof, either Portal 2 or Brink, if you count having beaten all the maps at one point or another in Brink and getting to level 20 completing it.

My first gaming experience began at 8 when folks brought me a new Amstrad CPC 464 back in....just a sec while I get the abacus out. Ah that's it, 1991 I think.
And from that moment on, Harrier Attack brought me into a world of electronic entertainment and some sweary competitive moments of play that I've never regretted

So pretty much since then really. Of course we grew up on a farm so money was/still is tight and I missed the eight and sixteen bit era of gaming. While I was loading up a game, kids at school were yammering on about Mario and Sonic.

B) Pool of Radiance, with my father, when I was about five or so.
C) Last...I guess Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3, though I'm not quite finished playing altogether.

I had an Atari when I was 6...that would have been 1985. The first game I remember finishing was the first Mario Bros in 1987. I was so freakin' proud of myself. The last game I beat was Fable 3.

So...about 25 years. Is my age showing?

If we count Putt Putt, it was also my first game. Putt Putt goes to the Moon ruled! Ahem...

My first real game was Super Mario World on Snes back when I was about 5, so about 15 years ago was when i started if we count that, otherwise more like 3. I used to love football (soccer) games but the first game I completed I think was Crash Bandicoot, and the last I completed was L.A Noire.

Been gaming for 24 years or so. First game I remember beating was Super Mario Bros. on the NES.
Last game I finished was The Witcher. Just couldn't bring myself to delve into the Witcher 2 without having beat the first one.

{1} Uhhh...depends. When did the Atari 2600 come out?

{2} Atari games don't 'finish', usually. Did you see the Missle Command bit on Extra Credits? Even still, the answer is Maze Craze.

{3} The last? Portal 2, of course. Currently playing the original Persona game on PSP.

A) I've been gaming since I was at least three (big brother with a SNES). So, about 17 years.

B) The first game I finished was Pokemon: Blue (which is weird, 'cause I got red first...)
That's actually a pretty cool story. I had no idea how the strategy of the game worked, so I just blasted through everything with my starter. It was a freaking beast by the time I got to the Elite Four, but that's a tough challenge, even for an over-leveled Blastoise. I finally got to Blue, slowly taking his team down, dreading what was coming--having to take down his Venasaur with a weakened Blastoise. I didn't have a chance to kill it first, so I took a shot with Fissure, an attack that one-hit KOs but has a low hit chance. It hit, and little me ran around the house shouting "I beat Pokemon!!"

C) The last game I beat was Sweet Home, a survival-horror RPG for the NES that never made it out of Japan. It's a fantastic game, and I recommend it to everyone! Here, this review covers it pretty well
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw06V-fcjfA

If you just want a quick summary, it has a dark story with great delivery, the puzzles mostly make sense (no throwing canned juice into a garbage chute knock a key into an alley), and the RPG-side of the game only helps to add to the horror atmosphere (you how in Resident Evil, getting the rocket launcher makes you feel like a bad ass? Well...bigger numbers don't quite have the same effect as exploding zombie heads). Oh, and it has practically no grinding.
