How much do the Reapers hate Shepard now?

Shepard will use his magic maguffin on the computer of sorcery with the help of the thief, the wizard and the knight to vanquish the Reapers to the outer realms of an alternate universe (or something). Seriously though, ME's overarching plot so far has been completely generic, the actual conclusion to the whole thing probably won't be very different from that nonsense, except with a lot more running around for arse holes.

Maybe every Reaper has some bit of code/vision to download and get Shepard some super power (did I just give away that I'm more interested in Skyrim?)

Anyway, if Bioware even remembers ME1, the reapers view humans and aliens more as a crop than an adversary, and they responded to Sovereign's defeat by positively, trying to shape him into something, after they killed him (wtf? I guess they knew he could survive impact with a planet and falling through the atmosphere.)
That is assuming Bioware has gotten over it's recent retardation in ME2 and Dragon age 2, which I doubt. At this point, I think it's possible to fix this mess, but I doubt they can for the same reasons they're in this mess of a plot. (I suspect it's too much EA oversight.)

I grow tired of these massive threats that can only be destroyed One Ring style. It's so cliche. Sadly, I am expecting ME to follow this formula. They figure out some long lost radio frequency to shut down the reapers and then go on a quest to activate it or something. I'd like, just once, to see a good old fashioned brutally devastating War where the protags win because of sheer determination- not some deus ex super weapon.

He'll get 25 kills.

Shepard is forced to flee the planet in order to gather support from alien civilizations and mount a counter-attack while also having to deal with Cerberus, who have decided to turn against him/her.
Look it up at wikipedia.
I still don't get how a counter-attack can work. Even if he gets the armies of all races, Harbinger (or was it Sovereign?) said, and I quote: "our numbers will darken the sky of every world". Considering how much of a problem they had against just Sovereign during the Battle of the Citadel, I'm very much doubting the effectiveness of any counter-attack they could possibly launch.
Yeah, but remember what Vigil said in ME 1. The Reapers are not immortal they fear a combined front against them. However, the latest news is Shepard can fail. If that's tied to goddamned paragon or renegade points I'm never buying another Bioware game again. Never. It will have pissed me off that badly.

How is he going to kill the Reapers? I bet you 10 bucks he pulls a previously unmentioned mystical macGuffin out of his ass but for some reason has to go the whole game fixing it/recovering it, before he can blow the reapers up.

Also, I'd imagine the reapers are probably really really mad but won't show it because they are "higher beings."

I assume it'll be like Mass Effect 2's failure option where if you don't do certain things then certain people die, and if you don't do any of those things then everyone dies. I must admit, I'm quite looking forward to seeing just how bad I can fuck up the galaxy by actively trying to make Shepard the most incompetent moron in existence.

Remember that gun from the Reaper IFF mission, the one that destroyed a Reaper in one shot? My bet: reverse engineer that gun into the Normandy, with a mission consisting in surviving waves and waves of husks and varieties to download the schematics of the "Reaper wrecker".

It would be kinda cool.

At least, I bloody well hope so, because it's been made quite clear that there's no feasible way of destroying them all without resorting to some hideous bastard deus ex machina solution worthy only of Doctor Who.
The game is 180 hours long and after 4 the remainder of the game is the 'Assault and destroy a Reaper' level over and over again.

Hows that?

Aren't reapers machines?

If so I don't think they are capable of hate, they just calculate the risk percentage that shepard poses to them.

Reapers are at least semi-organic beings.

Doesn't that mean they could get Reaper-AIDS or something?

Hope you kept Kelly around.... need a carrier.....

That is a crap load of reapers...I bet they may either have something that transmits to them and shuts them down or they'll retreat and realize wiping out the galaxy isn't worth the effort anymore, but that would be a crappy ending. I personally hope that you get to wipe them all out.

But who knows you may get near the end. You'll raid a reaper be about to destroy harbringer's core or some node that links all the reapers together, and then you find a console. On the console is a red button. A button that is suppose to shut all the reapers down. You press it, and then on the screen flashes a message and a holo vid starts to play and a horrible sound fills the air.....

then roll credits

Also, I'm wondering about ME3. How the hell is Shepard going to kill every single bloody Reaper there? Speculation, if you please.
He isn't. More likely, he's just going to find some way of shutting off the Reaper threat permanently, by somehow preventing the vast fleet from entering the galaxy.

At least, I bloody well hope so, because it's been made quite clear that there's no feasible way of destroying them all without resorting to some hideous bastard deus ex machina solution worthy only of Doctor Who.
Holy crap, the guys at Bioware are such sci-fi nerds that I think you may have landed on what the deus ex machina will be...the Doctor will show up and join Shepard's team after integrating the TARDIS into the Normandy's systems - I can envision this...it's PERFECT

Ha, I never thought of it that way. That's kind of a bad-ass title, actually.

Commander Shepard: Abortionist of Gods! ...Yeah, that sounded better in my head.

I guess there'll be different ways of killing them based on Paragon and Renegade. The Paragon option could be defeating them with a logical fallacy or something, like convincing them that they're alive and must therefore self-terminate.
That would be a really shit ending

I dunno, it would probably be pretty hilarious watching a hundred million squid-like space ships just pause for thought then suddenly decide to explode.
