I have call of duty 1,2 and 4 and have yet to play through so much of a the first level on singleplayer. I bought them entirely for the multiplayer and as such it is very important to me (in those games). Naturally this is why I won't be touching modern warfare 2 (and wouldn't even if it was as good as the previous titles).

There are some games that I won't buy because they don't include adequate multiplayer (cod6 isn't the only one), games like anno1404 are silly without it.
You're one of them....what about games that are single player only?
Hmm, I've been misleading. Call of duty games are played only for the multiplayer (by me). I have all three current gen consoles and other than splitscreen (which, in fairness is the only time I play wii at all) are not used for any multiplayer at all (I suppose I should conceded demon's souls, but it's not really conventional multiplayer). As I said, games like Anno don't work without multiplayer, Real time strategy (or economic simulators) grow boring rather quickly without the competetive element (though I played through warcraft games up till 3 and most westwood games, so there are exceptions). Same with a lot of war/shooting games (first and third person), I can't imagine playing mechwarrior living legends or left 4 dead on my own, however games like half life and crysis can hold my attention.

I don't only game multiplayer , the last 5 out of 6 games I've bought are all single player oriented (one has a multiplayer option that I intend to utalize when I'm finished with its single player, but that isn't at all why I bought it). Even on the PC platform, I'm happy to play singleplayer games, they just have to compete with multiplayer games.

I could not possibly care any less about multiplayer. I dont want game designers wasting precious time and mindpower on multiplayer.
Im sick of looking at a really good game, and the end of the preview they say" they have not said much about they're multiplayer, but they say its going to be the best part."

I dont want it to be the best part, I wanna be a loner inside my house, thats why im playing video games at the time.

not at all: my favorite games have been single player ones. I do enjoy first-person shooters but, I have way more fun gaming alone

I like having one or two games that I play multiplayer with my friends, CoD and L4D for example, and the rest is singleplayer so I like multiplayer as an addition and I would love to see Prototype multiplayer or Infamours multiplayer, but no multiplayer doesn't put me off buying something.

Most games I buy for the single player. But I play multiplayer games for cash, so it's always a +

I'm getting bored playing with random people who don't communicate and rush off to do their own thing. So, I'm looking at mp with a healthy level of skepticism: at the moment I only play Domination and Search & Destroy -style mp games, because those at least have some sense of goal in them. Also, it means something - sometimes - when you got another player's back.
