The nuts and bolts I can handle. Taking apart, putting together, no problem. Installing an OS, drivers, various programs, I've done it. Anything more involved, I may have to refer to the manual.
A pretty decent amount I'd say. I spent a few years teaching myself crap about programming, networking and web design, and I have a working knowledge of Linux (as this is apparently a pre-requisite for competent geekery).
On the hardware side of things, I did my work experience in a computer repair shop so I can easily build and rebuild computers.
I know nothing about PCs, I didn't make my own and I certainly don't fix PCs and upgrade them.
All of you are fools admitting your savvy that just gets the idiots who latch to you and ask you the dumbest questions.
I had people asking me the requirements for games, things easily googled. And they got upset when I used "Let me Google that for you' calling me rude. Well! I call you lazy and stupid for not searching!
