Well you pay for the food, then tip for the service.

The waiters and busboys get paid for the service they render through your tip. (READ: Bringing you food, wiping down your table, making sure you have everything you want)
.... i honestly have no answer sounds broken especially if they charge the same but if it works for you i guess it works.
But it doesn't cost the same, and it isn't the same food. If you don't get good service, don't tip good. If you don't get good food don't ever come back.

You can always go somewhere cheaper.

- 10% if the service was decent, but not spectacular.
- 15% if the service was notably good.
- 20% if the service was exceptional.

If they do a less than satisfactory job of it, they don't get a tip, simple as. I don't understand countries where it's apparently expected to tip every time. That's not how tips are supposed to work.

Does it? Our food is pretty cheap. If I go out to lunch with my gf, we spend maybe $8-$15 on food. That's about $9-$18. (Then again, there is even cheaper food than that.)

Somewhere in between. Not fancy, but definitely a nice meal.

However, 30% on my daily coffee.

(Insert Seattle, WA stereotype here)

somewhere between 15% and 20%. Whatever ends up being closest to making my total a whole-dollar amount.

I never tip. They get paid to do their job, which they hopefully fulfill. But I see no purpose in why I should pay additional money.

eh it depends..my roommate is a waiter and he makes tips up the butthole, he'll come home with 150 bucks when i just worked my ass off for even longer than he did and barely got 70, so yeah i tend to shed tips lightly, fuck off waiters/waitresses, i earned my cash too.
