How much graphics processing power do you have?

Still, it works fine, played AC:R, DE:HR, Skyrim and most current gen games (well, all the ones I've got) with it without any graphical hitches.

I had one of those up until very recently and it was the best card cost/performance wise I ever had. But I got my hand on BattleField 3 and the Witcher 2 which made think 4 years is a good run for a gfx card( got mine in 2008) and I got a HD7950.

Pretty happy with it thus far!

Not enough. (I can't run the first Portal properly) I own a cheap laptop. I'd love to get a new desktop in time for Guild Wars 2 but I fear my budget cannot allow it. D:

In the meantime my 360 keeps me going. I got it the first day it came out and to this day I can still play new games without a hassle, that's good enough for me~! (and more importantly, my wallet)

However, to answer the question, I have a pair of 5850s overclocked to 5870 performance. It's roughly in the 7970/680 performance area depending on game/benchmark, generally just shy of that performance. Definitely no need to upgrade for at least another generation since I'm running all games at maxed out settings at 1080p including Witcher 2 with Ubersampling.

i just felt like i need a upgrade since my old GTX260 had a bit trouble with GTAIV at the time but managed to do it fine but when i heard D3, BF3, Skyrim was soon to come along i clearly thought i needed an upgrade and this one has held on pretty good so far

Not the most advanced setup as the OP shows, but I have yet to play any game I could not run on at least mid level graphics, Crysis series included. Since I primarily play games for the story line and/or gameplay enjoyment rather than to be impressed by pixel count, that's all I ask.

(Well, that's not quite true, I had to cut back on the juice when playing "The Bard's Tale" recently, but the game is old enough I was lucky it would play at all on Win 7.)

Got the same here. Plenty sufficient for running anything I want it to, and nicely cheap while it's there.

I'm running a GTX580 to do all the graphics processing, and I've got an old GTX295 hooked up that does all my PhysX calculations. Works fairly well thus far.

We all know how vital graphics are in games, and that's why its sad to see that consoles are still stuck will graphics from well over half a decade ago. PCs however, are going stronger than ever. Framerates are through the roof on some of the most demanding games games on ultra settings with the latest 28nm GPUs. Some of us however are taking this opportunity to snatch bargains on previous 40nm chips and make use of SLI/Crossfire Technology. I'll go first:

In Laymen's terms, this basically means there is enough graphics processing power to move a mountain, and both cards together out perform a single HD7970 or GTX 680 and are cheaper than either card too.

But enough from me. Escapists, what do you use to run your games?

8( I've only got one underclocked GTX 570. I feel like I'd need liquid cooling if I tried to put it over the edge and I just generally don't trust myself with liquids near electronics.
