None. I worked last night.

So, how much new knowledge of Half Life 3 did it cause?

*add cricket chirping sound effect here*
I have a suspicion that the whole thing was really just an excuse to play more Half-Life 2.

I started with a old save that began when you first reached the airboat, Got into ravenholm where me and steve (my personal sawblade I kept with me throughout my stay their) killed everything. Then just kept going till I reached the antlions. So I might not know the exact time but I spent a good amount of it on HL2.

This is literally the first I've heard of this, although I probably wouldn't have participated if I had known. This is Valve we're talking about; it'll be done when it's done, and as Shigeru Miyamoto is fond of saying, "a late game will be late for a while. A bad game will be bad forever."

Besides, I was too busy setting up a bunch of virtual machines until I finally got one that could run 16 bit Windows programs with 3D accelleration last night XD

I signed up for it and everything...then something came up and I had to leave town :-\ By the time I got back pretty much everybody was done playing HL2, so I just booted up TF2 like I really wanted to anyway.

I didn't play any Half-Life 2 last night. I absolutely dislike the Half-Life games a little bit but not enough to say that I hate them but enough that I wouldn't go out of my way to play them.

Called it. Total failure of a protest. Gamers are inherently apathetic and indolent, this never had a chance.

I played for several hours and stopped when I realized that steam had ticked over into offline mode some time ago. Well, actually I still kept playing for a few hours. Damn that game is good.

Here's a tip to make the game still fun after a long time:

bind tab "host_timescale 0.2"
bind q "host_timescale 1"

None at all. I'm not going to replay the same game I've played dozens of times, and just beat a few months ago.

Was busy with Cryostasis.

as i belong to the blasphemous people who think that HL2 is not the jesus of gaming, i didn't play HL at all; also, i wasn't even home but at a bar, so couldn't have played anyway.

HL2 was somewhere between ok and good (please, no, don't, let me live, i din't mean to... ARGH), so no reason to loose sleep over it or it's sequel (although i probably would play it once its price were lowered, as HL2 kinda-sorta hangs in the air unfinished... how i hate open endings)
...
...... can i come out of hiding now?

I forgot about it, oh well. I doubt that this will change anything, if valve wanted to release some info they would have, if there is info to be released at all.

All of it. I rushed optional parts, like the frequent stops with the sand buggy, but I managed to complete it in one sitting. About 5 hours in total.

Nope. I have never even heard of this "Call for Communication: Red Letter Day" although half life 2 is always a good game to play.

I played through Episode 2 in it's entirety. Mostly to nab the last few achievements I had missed. Just...because. (also, it's easily my favorite game in the series)

I managed to save every building in the final strider battle. Also managed to kill a Combine soldier with his own grenade. (no idea how I missed that one before)

However, as I had said in another thread:

...I missed two other achievements.

First, I once again somehow missed two of the three hundred thirty three grubs. I always miss those two.

And secondly, I failed to launch the gnome into space. Don't misunderstand, though. I carried that thing from start to finish. All through the antlion caverns, through the car sections, the chopper chases....all the way to the end. Placed him in the rocket, and went on my way. Happy in the thought, "Ha! Got it. Finally."

Little did I realize that, to actually GET the achievement, you not only have to place him in the rocket....you also have to close the door.

So, because I didn't do that one arbitrary thing, I missed out. Now, this wouldn't have been a big deal, if it weren't for the fact that I had accidentally used the save file closest to that point in the game to save my progress, at several points, during the strider battle. The only other save I had for that playthrough was for a point about mid-way through the antlion caves.

So....yeah. :(

I'd just started the level with the Antlions by the time it got too late to carry on.

I had to play my iTunes library in shuffle through Ravenholm, to make it tolerable. It was still scary, but much less so with John Lennon singing about how your bird can sing to George Harrison's awesome riffs.
It's funny, I've sometimes listened to creepier music upon subsequent playthroughs of Ravenholm in an attempt to make it more scary.

I don't know why. Maybe I'm a closet Phobophiliac. :/
