Slightly over 100 hours I think.
Bought the GoTY edition for my PS3 and played every waken moment for a few days. Had it PC as well, so perhaps 120hours+ then.

Probably well over 200 hours. Multiple saves, multiple new games. It's gotten to the point where the entire game has become incredibly predictable. Also, I'm starting to see just how incredibly flawed Fallout 3 is.

At least 1000 hours. And no, that isn't a typo.

I think a sum of over 1000 hours. I have too much free time and it was all worth it.
I know there is a lot to do, but I'm curious, how did you manage that?
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the game - across my three characters I've probably spent about 200 hours on it, unlocking all achievements and custom weapons etc, but I'm just wondering how you managed 1000 hours on it?

Xfire says 62 hours. I played through it about one-and-a-half time. After blowing up Megaton and killing Three Dog there wasn't much left to keep me playing on my second (obviously evil) playthrough.

Exploring and self inflicted challenges, mostly. I once did a 'Chinese Pistol only' run, and a 'Melee/unarmed weapons only' run.

Probably around 40 hours. Could have gotten more, it's just that I don't like discovering new towns because im never gonna vist them anyway and it just got boring. Wanting to play New vegas now.

EDIT: Wait, 60 hours. I made more than one character.

Somewhere between 400 and 500 hours I guess. My current character has almost everything (a few items I can't be bothered with) and has done all the DLC and such; I really can't get back into it though.

Probably around 400 hours. Don't have everything, there were a few uniques I didn't get, but I explored until my eyes bled.

Honestly, don't regret a minute of it.

Probably about 300-400 hours
100 of which was on the ps3 cos i wanted to get all the trophies
Also spent 150 hours on New Vegas, still not completed everything though so that number will likely rise considerably.

I disliked the ending of Fallout 3 so much that as soon as I finished it, and watched the end credits, I exited the game and never went back. So, I'm guessing 40ish hours.

1000+. I don't have an exact number, but for that particular Christmas I had Borderlands and Fallout 3. Borderlands gathered dust for a whole year until I realised how fun it was. But until then Fallout 3 consumed my life and I was determined to get everything, to do everything. I've got 13 characters each one very different. I'm going to jump on it at a Steam sale and get it again, this time with mods I'll be able to rack up even more time.

The first week of Fallout Syndrome was dark and my skin was pasty at the end of it.

How much? Not even one percent of the time I put on Fallout 2. Fallout 3 wasn't anywhere near Fallout 2.

Still, it's Fallout.

Around 50 hours methinks. I'm still on my first playthrough and have done ancourage and the Pitt and most of the original side quests. Just started agathas song and still have the main quest line, broken steel and point look out to do. Though I've been playing NV lately as I'm aiming to finish as many side quests as I can then waiting for the rest of the DLC. Currently I can only do the yesman or NCR quest string as I messed up Mr. House's and Caeser's Legion's quest line. Well I'll save it for my cannibal melee playthrough and explosives and big guns playthrough.

I don't keep track in hours anymore... yeah, maybe I've played it a little too much. I wish Vegas had less loading screens. I think I could really get into exploring it more if it did.
