I know a girl at school who has worn so much make-up and for so long when she isn't wearing it she feels terribly insecure.

That's when it's too much, to be honest.. Teenage girls rely too much on make-up for their "beauty"..
I haven't worn makeup for long, but I feel that way too. I always worry what people think about me, and when I don't wear makeup I always worry that they think I look bad. :\ Even just a simple swipe of eyeliner and some mascara is enough to feel relief.

When you start looking like this

Worst. Clowns. Ever.

OT: When it is noticeable. As for your profile picture, you look great without that seems perfect for you.

Judging by your Profile pic, you really needn't worry.

I'd say that you're a good example.

Hm, I would say when someone calls you a Geisha, and your answer to them is 'Excuse me?' That's a bad sign right there...

I'm the same. Not so much around the house and my family, but any time I go out, I feel the need to put something on. I don't know why that is, and I don't really like it... but I don't mind it either, since it's such an easy task.

I just like the way I look when I wear makeup, I don't usually bother for day to day, but if I'm going out with friends then I'll pop some one. Depending what sort of mood I'm in it might just be a little, or I might do something really dramatic. I don't do it for guys, I do it for me, and I couldn't care less what guys think of my makeup. If one of my girlfriends was to tell me that I had too much on then I'd take some of it off, but I don't usually go too overboard to begin with.

Oh, you're a girl... right. I was scared for a second because I assume everyone's a guy and then you were talking about wearing make-up and-

Well anyway I don't comment on girl's makeup because I simply don't notice. One of my friends has insomnia and she was talking about how annoying it is that she never get's enough sleep, like less than an hour a night, and I said

"Well you don't look as if you don't get enough sleep."
And she says
"That might be because of the make-up."
And I was like

YOU WEAR MAKE-UP!?

I think you should go natural, no need to pretend to look like something you're not.

OT: It's a bit too much when a girl rests her head on your shoulder, then looks up and leaves her face on your shoulder, if you get what I mean.

I dont have a problem with makeup....if its for a special occasion. if a girl has to put on makeup everyday then thats a problem. they aren't comfortable with their own body and thus are insecure and thus i dont date them.

Exactly enough that it's not overtly noticable, same goes for perfume e.g. If I think you look or smell nice, That's good. If I think your perfume smells good or your make-up looks good, that's okay. If the first thing I notice about you is your perfume/mak-up, that's really bad.

Personally I don't wear makeup except on special occasions but I understand why some girls obsess over it every day. If you can't touch your face without something being left on your fingers, you're wearing too much.

I don't usually have a problem with makeup, however, that said, if I can tell a major difference in skin tone between your face and neck because of overuse of makeup then that's quite possibly the biggest turnoff ever in all time.

When it's too noticeable, too bright and hurts your eyes or it says "I'm trying to be pretty because I don't feel good about myself."

The proper amount is the absolute minimum you think you can get away with, for me. Which is frequently none.

Make up depends on a few factors...

Taste
Thickness
Quality

So long as it's in good taste, isn't applied so thick that it's like white paste, and it's a good quality of make up, then yes, I believe it's not half bad. Moderation is key.

Personally, I'm not a fan of make-up and think no one should feel the need to wear it...but that's just me. I also have the same opinion of cologne and perfume, so yeah. Oh, and spray-on deodorant...ugh, guys spray it on just as thickly as hookers use perfume.

Yeah, my brother used to have that problem. He'd spray on the Axe after getting out of the shower, and you could smell it from the first floor (his shower is on the third floor).

Just... damn gross.
