If you can tell its there then it is probably too much. That's my opinion anyway.

When it becomes a novelty, then it's to much.

But I think, in the end its a case by case thing. I know a few girls who can throw on a whole bunch of make up, with like.. artistic and crazy eye liner and stuff, but it all looks subtle and tasteful and good. Maybe its how they used it? I'm not sure.

I guess whatever works.. If you look good with no make up on, good on you. If you look good with a little make up on, good on you. If you look good with it caked on, good on you.

I was going to say some generalistic comment, but this sums it up pretty well, funnily the post right above mine.

Case-by-case, I have seen cat eyes done tastefully, and also way over the top, it depends on the person and how they balance it and suit it to their features. For a girl that has natural beauty and embrace it is also good, I mean wearing makeup every second they spend out of bed, and even the occasional hours in it....well ok ok, passing out after partying in it is ok i guess, but otherwise it can be a bit much..

I think some normal black eyeliner and mascara look good on most girls. Makes their eyes stand out well but isn't distracting. And maybe lip gloss, lipstick for fancy occasion if anything. Same with eyeshadow, in most occasions I'm not a fan of it.

That's basically it, unless your using cover-up on some specific spot temporarily you don't need to be painting a full new face on yourself.

I'm just wondering because all of my female friends wear make-up, and it's not something that guys tend to remark on. Do you tend to ignore it? Do you think it makes a girl more appealing than she would be without it?

And most of all, how much is too much for you? When her face starts to look like a cake, or do you just hate all make-up in general?

Personally, I wear just as much as in my profile picture- a thin line of eyeliner on the top and some mascara. Nothing heavy or scary looking; just enough to make me look more awake during the day.

What're your thoughts on it?
I think it's too much make-up if you start to notice it. Make-up is used to highlight one's natural beauty, not change it

Well so far guys have looked shocked when I tell them I'm wearing make-up, so I guess I'm doing aaallllrriiiight ;D haha

But yeah, 10 tonnes of make up is not a good look. I will never understand girls that do this to themselves.

I wear concealer, foundation, blusher, eyeliner and mascara everyday.

I think it depends on what kind of make up it is. Can't stand fake tan or anything like that and I don't really like lipstick. Eye make up though, depends what a girl does with it and if it fits their look. A hot punk girl can pull off heavy eyeliner for instance.

I love Alice Glass way too fucking much.

Not that my gender really matters, but I am a woman (yes, more estrogen in the gaming world). I'm gay, and I personally don't find women who wear a lot of makeup attractive. I tend to go for women who don't wear any at all, or so little that I can't tell. It's not attractive if you're hiding your own face. I don't wear it myself except in very rare circumstances, and it's a big turnoff in general if a woman spends more time on her makeup and hair combined than it takes me to brush my teeth.

It's too much when it looks visibly caked on, or just done in a...not very subtle manner. (For example, red lipstick and purple eyeshadow together.) That being said, it's probably fine to use twenty different products every day, so long as they're used sparingly and tastefully. I use powder, cat-eye eyeliner, mascara, and something on my lips every day, more as a form of self-expression than anything else.

I usually just go with eye shadow and mascara, but if it's something more formal I'll throw on some foundation too. I think "too much" just depends on the situation and the person. The full face--foundation, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lipstick--is just fine when used correctly. The colors have to accentuate what you've already got, not turn them into flashing neon signs.

If you're going to use thick, chartreuse green eyeshadow that goes up to your eyebrows with candied-apple red lipstick, that's probably going to far in a normal environment. Earthtones are typically better for eyeshadow, and something closer to a pink or peach color is good for the lips if you really feel the need for color there. But typically with my lips I just stick to colorless lip balm, mostly so they don't dry out.

I don't like it, and i think my wife looks a thousand times better when she goes without it.

However it makes her feel womanly, so i don't argue, i smile, give her a kiss, and tell her she is beautiful while using all my power to avoid grabbing a face cloth.

Makeup is cool. I've seen people use little bits to great effect, and lots to great effect to. The inverse is also true.

Honestly? The right answer may be 'as much as you feel you need.'

Makeup is very much tied to self esteem. A lot of women feel needing it demeans them, and then if they do use it, they feel bad. I would consider makeup like wearing a nice bit of jewelry, or putting a nice outfit together. It doesn't say anything, and should match what you already have.

Even in that avatar? o_O

OT; I dislike make-up for the most part, though I am fine with eyeliner and blusher. I like girls to show off their natural looks, and use make-up to enhance, not conceal.
Yah I'm wearing make up in my avatar. Obviously!

Ive never been a big fan of make up but in my unexperienced male opinion I usually say that make up should be used to emphasise what is already there and not simply cover it up as many girls do.

Personally its a case of less is more and if used every day the effect of using it when dressing up to go out is weakened.
