4470 songs, 12 days and 15 hours worth, and 27.32 GB.

I use Winamp. Although, I hate Itunes, but I have to use it due to my Ipod.

Here's what's in the collection of someone who works in the music industry:

About 500 CDs, about 50 12" vinyl, maybe 30 7" vinyl, about 100 cassettes and a few things stored on really weird formats like DAT tapes and 1/2" reels. I even have a totally obsolete ADAT VHS somewhere. There's also whatever's in the mail that I haven't opened yet, I'm guessing another 50 CDs or so at this point.

Also on average there's about another 1000 CDs in my house in boxes at any given time, but each box is usually multiple copies of the same album so I'm not sure if that counts. There's also various master CD copies of things on one of the labels that I work for, maybe I have 100 of those masters, not sure.

The only MP3s I have are burnt from my own CDs. I don't file share or download - ever, legally or otherwise. I couldn't quantify my collection in terms of hours or gigabytes and anyway that number is always changing. I try to keep it consistent by getting rid of old CDs as I get new ones but sometimes it's hard to find new homes for them.

what is your preferred media player?
At home, Windows Media Player because it's the default one and it works. At work we have Linux and we use something called Banshee which is amazing and makes iTunes look like a bad joke. I have iTunes at home anyway just so I can use Quicktime, but I rarely use Quicktime and I use iTunes absolutely never. I don't use portable MP3 players, iPods etc under any circumstances, I hear enough music when I'm at work, I don't need to hear it at all times. Sometimes it's good to get a break.

220g worth of which about 40gig is 24k old time radio shows (Shadow, Superman, etc). Statistically, I can't listen to it all if I played it 24/7 non-stop. I wouldn't live long enough. So I quit collecting it.

I have about 3.5tb of movies and TV shows I stream to my ReplayTV/Xbox. I quit collecting that too. I have Netflix so why bother really.

2329 songs, but I quit downloading songs about a year ago after my ipod broke. That's 7 days worth of playing time, which is pretty adequate to be honest.

Spotify: 348 tracks, 1,3 days.

And I use Songbird.

45.2GB and about 32.4 days.

I use Media Monkey, because... It's just awesome. Go on, try it.

EDIT: Oh, and 11131 songs.

69GB, 30.7 days

It's a lot but every song has its rightful place in my collection, there is nothing there I hardly listen to, when I listen to music I put on a whole album I don't like listening to individual tracks.

Oh, and I use iTunes

I currently own 0 bytes worth of music. That all adds up to a grand total of 0 individual tracks spanning 0 albums, and it would take a whopping 0 hours to listen to it all.

Just under 20GB on my computer (10 days' worth), but on my iPod I have 30GB (5081 songs) - which I can't get off of it again after my computer had to be formatted cos of damned iTunes DRM buggery...

If you haven't guessed from that, I use iTunes through necessity, not choice!

Using foobar2000 but still need to get it how I like it
Do you know if the player is syncronizable with your iPod? And can you import iTunes settings? I can't seem to find any info on these.
I honestly don't know since I don't have an iPod and despise iTunes... however, foobar2000 is highly moddable so if it's even slightly possible, someone will have done it.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
