How much time do you get for gaming?

I've been playing Titanfall a lot recently. Well, by a lot, I mean a lot for me. I've got 20 hours on it since launch - Since I'm in the UK, that's since the 14th.

I've seen a few people that have quite a high generation level, and whenever I've seen someone with a high level, I've always wondered how long it took them to get that high.

For those not in the know, generations in Titanfall are a sort of prestige (COD term). Basically, when you get to the top rank (50), you can choose to reset your challenges and unlocks back to 0 in exchange for an increasingly higher prestige against your name.

Unlike COD, it's not as simple as getting to the max rank. As generations increase, you also have to perform increasingly difficult (or time consuming, depending on how you look at it) challenges, as well as get to max rank (although I understand that completing a generation yields increased XP).

I just saw a player at generation 8, and asked him/her how much playtime (s)he has. His/her answer was 120 hours. So I asked how (s)he found the time for that. (S)He said after work and at weekend.

I couldn't even comprehend spending that long gaming at all in such a short period - I did the math and it's an average of 7 hours a day.

It got me wondering if I'm just not a dedicated gamer or just have a short attention span or something. I couldn't imagine spending that long on gaming on days where I'm free, let alone that long of playing the same game constantly - I'd get bored and want to do something else.

Am I in the minority with that when it comes to games, or are most people more casual, like me?

I only get around an hour on a good weekday, and whatever on weekends. I say max of 17 hours a week (that's doing nothing else but.)

I get a decent amount, but since I've been playing Visual Novels of late, I tend to get bored rather quickly. I've had Hoshizora No Memoria up since eight in the morning and am still in the same scene. I've done nothing today either, since class was cancelled.

But if I get a new game that is really good, I can usually play anywhere from six to ten hours nonstop without getting bored. Other than that, no more than three hour sessions at a time before I get bored and browse the internet or something.

Being a grown up with a full time job and my own family means I have priorities. Thus I only game after everyone else goes to sleep, and then I sacrifice my own sleep just to play. If I get 2 hours a day I'm doing good. When the stars align and I have all the time I want for playing games, I still don't play for more than 3 hours a day. I start to feel like I'm neglecting more important things in life if I do. So I average 10-14 hours a week, depending on how hooked I am on whatever I'm presently playing.

In the week I get a couple of hours a night to play games due to having a full time job, I can no longer play games all night long like I used to. At weekend though I do play later into the night if I'm not tired and every now and then I'll have a whole day playing games if I feel like doing nothing else. I think on average I get about 20 hours a week, which is not too bad I suppose.

Quite simply, when I was going to uni/work full time, I had no time to game. Maybe 2 hours a week. If my girlfriend felt like playing, I'd then have about an extra 6 hours of Civilization 5. But I spend more time on my iPhone playing Castle Crashers in 2 minute blocks than solid gaming.

During this holiday between universities, I have found myself with plenty of time to play. I knocked out about 8 hours of Metal Gear Peace Walker. And after it, I can say I feel like I wasted a full day of my life. So there's that.

I've been extremely busy for a while now and I've been playing about twice a week for about 5 hours each.

I don't have a lot of free time on my hands anymore, so it takes me forever now to finish a game. The last one took me about a month finish, and that was only because I had a week off and I decided to be lazy and play my game.

The summer I plan on playing more since that backlog ain't gonna shrink itself.

Couple of hours a week usually sometimes a bit more sometimes a bit less it basically means I dont get to play many RPGs anymore which is a shame. On rare occasions I still get some Sundays where not a lot is happening so if that happens I will likely play most of the day if my other work and studies are up to date. That hasnt happened in a while though and with the way things are it wont happen for a while yet.

SUPER depends... Since I have finally embraced a LOT of [fictional] shows on public television (most of them hour-long dramas), the times I do get to play any kind of video games is when I have time to do that without worrying that FOX the channel in question will not put up the episode of whatever show I'm watching currently on their website fast enough so that I'm not an episode behind... *takes a breathe*

If I had to put a number, it would be about 10 hours a week at times that I should be asleep for the next day...

Usually 90% of the time I'm awake, as a disabled person not legally allowed to work I don't have anything better to do with my time.

Which is your way of saying you almost never have free time.

OT: As I am also currently unemployed, I usually game for about five to six hours a day unless I have to go do something during the time I usually game. If I game for more than six hours I usually start felling really bored and drained unless I doing stuff with friends.

Recently, not a whole lot. I'm working on making some major changes in my life at the moment, so I'll have maybe an hour a day to play games, if that. I honestly don't mind it though, as I haven't felt like playing many games of late regardless of free time.

Pretty variable honestly. Whether I'm at my co-op or at the university it depends on my current work load. That said, I'm looking at a M-R 10 hour a day work week with F-Su off once I graduate. Best part is work can't follow me home. So I'll have quite a bit more free time.

Yay for being in the group of people that look forward to less work once they graduate.

Not been a whole lot lately. I think over all of last week i got to clock in about 8-10 hours of gaming. College really doesn't leave a whole lot of free time since one part of the whole deal is apparently having a "social life". Didn't have that to worry about back in high school >_>

...i've barely made a dent in Dark Souls 2 yet.

You people make me feel bad. I only got Pokemon Omicron the a week and a half ago and I have 50 hours on it.

I'm about to reach a thousand hours in Dota 2, and I'd probably average 3-5 hours a day playing games on a week day, and far more on the weekend.

Its only ever across around 2 or three games though. I spend almost all my time on Dota these days, but it used to be Halo 3 before that.
