How much time do you get to play video games?

I am a full time student and worker, and there currently is not a day in the week where I am not doing either, work six days a week and school five days a week(my first full day off in 3 or so months is going to be Thanksgiving lol), so I only get a few hours a week to really sit down and play games. Which is sad considering now much I've dropped on steam sales, humble bundles, etc, in the last few months. Looking forward to my winter break from college though!

final year of uni, only spend about 2-3 hours a weekday on my research though (which is bad) I have training 4 times a week, plus refereeing and the occasional tourneys taking this to 6 times a week with sport... soooo I havent played a video game since I got here 2 months ago. At all.

Haven't worked in 3 months and am living of a stack of cash i saved up. Anywhere from 1-15 hours a day depending on my mood or daily commitments. I usually listen to lectures while gaming. When I am not gaming I spend my time working out, learning or attempting creativity.

I really do hate working on anything I am not passionate about. There is no such thing as 'too much free time' that is just BS wiped up by people who do not know how to occupy themselves.

Realistically, I have a lot of free time which could theoretically be spent gaming. The spanner in the works is that often I'm exhausted and/or incapable of dedicating the necessary brainpower to playing games that I'd need. I think that's why, over the last few months, I've been investing a lot more time in "casual" or indie games rather than the more long-winded or "serious" RPGs I'm used to.

That being said, if I'm playing a game with friends, it seems to increase my willingness to play for extended periods (providing I don't have any commitments that would require me to stop playing). Games like Smite or Minecraft are prime examples of that. If I played them on my own, I'd probably manage 1-2 hours before losing interest and/or patience. If I'm with people, the time I spend playing them pretty much doubles.

I also have the added penalty of having an insane backlog of games I need to play. It's pretty overwhelming, and often discourages me from touching any of the games I haven't already played and learned I like.

It all depends on the week for me honestly...I work anywhere from 30 to 40 hours per/week, averaging 6.5 to 7 hours per/shift. I generally get (or try getting) 5 to 9 hours of sleep every night (5.5 to 7 on work nights). Those are my main obligations but there are lesser obligations which I can't get out of such as eating, bodily maintenance (that sounds not disgusting but should convey what I mean) and, various chores ranging from minor household ones to, going out and doing whatever needs to be done.

...

It's really difficult to gauge...I would say anywhere from 2 to 4 hours of game time when I'm talking about a work-day (not counting days when I have given up on giving a fuck) to about 3 to 6+ hours on days like today when I don't work. Today for example was an above average day; I've been gaming from about 11:15am until about 15 minutes ago (4:05pm). This isn't counting handheld gaming...my 3DS is a wild card which is difficult to take into account...

...

This is a much harder question to answer so my TL;DR answer is going to be "NOT NEARLY ENOUGH"

When not at school or traveling. So pretty much from 10AM to 2AM on the weekends. Or 4PM to 12AM on weekdays. I really don't have any social life because I'm pretty boring and not that attractive, but shrug. I like my time alone with my games, it's better for more or less everyone involved.

I've kind of put myself in a funny position. I discipline myself enough not to play video games if I don't have my assignments done because if I sit down and get to playing I'll get absorbed and nothing will get done at all. But on the flip side, I'm not disciplined enough to stop procrastinating and just do them so I end up sitting around not letting myself play video games because I'll fell guilty but just not motivated to do my work. It makes me kind of sad xD

I've been making time where I don't really have any.

I predict there will be no gaming this week as I cram everything to finish all my projects due next week.

Working at a software startup... not a whole lot to be honest :p
It's been only a few hours a week recently.

Before about a month ago I would usually be able to play between four and eight hours a day depending on several different factors. For the past month, however, I've had only half that half the time due to how busy I've been.

Usually I don't have all that much time to game, I'm usually working in the day, and afterwards I spend more of my time listening to music and playing guitar. If I didn't go out at all then I'd probably have 1-2 hours a night to game. Generally when I've finished work my main priority is 3-4 hours of guitar, and a workout.

At the moment my work hours are pretty low, which has given me some time to start working through games I have either yet to play or complete, and since a friend who moved away has just got Xbox live I've had a fair few larger sessions recently. I think I had 3 10 hour gaming sessions with him last week, and just missed out on a bit of sleep.

How ever many hours I can get away with. I have assignments due but I can cheese those in two/three straight days of writing, plus the one teacher likes to push deadlines back for no reason.

No idea what the fuck to do with my programming one though. That goes so far over my head.

I have a problem of finding finishing games and animes (particularly animes) as an accomplishment on its own because I procrastinate on my procrastination material (very meta) so actual work gets confused.

It'll all work out in the end. I'm a last hour kind of guy not last minute.

I very seldom do long gaming sessions.
A LAN here or there sometimes (1 or 2 per year if lucky)
But mainly my gaming is 1-3 hours a day that I work, depending on other stuff I have to do that day.
And on a free day it varies from 1-6 hours, again based on other activities those days.
And some days I might not even game at all.

I was finally able to play some video game today, which is first time in 6 to 7 days. My professor graciously didn't give me any homework this week and extended the deadline for my design report.

If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have much time for leisure.

I work pretty varied hours & usually have a lot of other crap to do, the joys of being an "adult", but I tend to get 2 or 3 hours in at least every other day. On weekends when i'm too broke to go do anything & again not busy being responsible, I generally get most of the day to game which is quite nice. Of course all my gaming sessions are broken up constantly by texts & interruptions from the family.

I only work 3 days because there are no jobs at all. I spend the other 3 days babysitting for my sister who also only works 3 days. So yeah, I get a day to myself. I try to get other stuff done, though.

Maybe a couple of hours a couple of evenings a week. I used to fit in a bit more when the spouse and I had completely different work schedules, but not anymore.

I also travel a fair bit for work (I'm usually flying between Toronto and DC a couple of times a month) so that gives me a few hours for handheld/mobile games a couple of times a month (assuming I'm not stuck on conference calls at the airport, which has happened a few times).

Between work and school not nearly as much as I would like. For a while there it was on average at least 8+ hours a day. Now I'm lucky to pull in more than 20 hours in a week. Sometimes when I get home I'm so tired I don't feel like playing anything. Extremely long sessions have become rare for me lately because whenever I have that much free time I want to get the most out of it.
