As you are all undoubtedly aware 2011 is going to be a great year for gaming, with at least a dozen big names coming out at some point. the question is how much is it going to cost you to buy every game you want?

write what games you games you want this year and how much it'll cost

for me the list includes:

bulletstorm
homefront
deus ex
ghost recon
assassins creed 3
modern warfare 3
gears of war 3
L.A noire
mass effect 3
red faction: Armageddon
warhammer 40k: space marine
XCOM

Assuming i was buying these games new that's almost £500 spent this year.

Well, I'm planning on getting the 3DS when it comes out, which I think may be this year, I don't know the release yet for the UK, Plus Pokemon Black/White when they come out. There may be other's that I probably will buy but none of them are coming to mind right now.

At least the $60 I'm going to hopefully shell out for Cathrine.Probably more depending on how often I hit the bargain bin.

I probably spent more that I ever have on games in the last six months than I ever have before, I've learnt my lesson. Apart from Deus Ex and The Last Guardian I'm not buying anything on launch, how much more than that depends on how fast things drop in price.

Diablo III is a certain purchase. Other games that I'll likely get are Dragon Age 2 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

I'm trying not to buy too many games this year. With a quick look at my Steam library, I've got at least 16 good to great games that I haven't played either at all or not enough at all.

DA2 and Skyrim I'll probably get later, or if they go into sale, because of the aforementioned titles I got this year.

Oh man, SO much money. I'm considering investing on a PSP so I can play The 3rd Birthday, so that's gonna be some money.

Then, the PS3 games:

Arkham City
The Last Guardian
Ni no Kuni
Catherine
Killzone 3
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 3
Little Big Planet 2
Dead Space 2
Deus Ex
Marvel vs. Capcom 3

And I'm probably forgetting some others. All in all, it's gonna be (without counting the PSP), around US$720, which is AR$2880.

There are so many good games coming out this year, I will simply be unable to play all of them.

Mass Effect 3
Killzone 3
Dead Space 2
Deus Ex
DA2
Batman
Homefront

I am sure I am missing some games.

I guess I will have to wait until I finish my degree before I can get around to most of the games this year.

Bioware will be able to buy some serious hookers and blow with the money they'll get off me for DA2, ME3 and DLC for DA, ME2, and no doubt DA2 in the leadup to the holidays.

Whole bunch of stuff. Batman, Deus Ex, DS2, ME3, DA2, Last Guardian, Arkham City, Dungeons, DoW: Retribution, Space Marine, Portal 2, Diablo 3, Skyrim, The Witcher 2, Bioshock Infinite, maaaaaaybe Red Faction/Brink, and quite possibly some 3DS games.

All for other people, mind. Probably going to wind up too broke to buy myself any games, as usual (the list of stuff I both want and would be able to get to work on my computer consists of Dungeons, and maybe Diablo 3/Portal 2, those last two might not run. Oh, and Bioshock Infinite).

I've already spent a ton of money on a new computer, and the funny part is it's still not working properly as someone put the thermal paste on wrong. Not sure if I want to return it or just fix it myself.

And yes this year will cost me a ton of money apart from that too. Not sure on what yet though. DOOM, DNF, etc.

There are about 6 games which I really want to get this year, and if I get them all new then it'll probably cost me $600 or more. Mass Effect 3 is the only game I want to buy on the launch day; the rest, I don't mind waiting a bit. Except maybe Diablo III, although it'll probably be delayed or something. I'm not sure I have the time or money to sustain my gaming habit this year.

Three arms and a leg. Any volunteers?

Seriously though... quick calculations are needed.

Doing a quick Play.com skim I am spending around £700 on console games (assuming I buy every game for £40 on the day of release). So I could probably knock about £40 off that for discounts...

That does not take into account MSP (I'm going to need around 10,000) and any more indie 360/PC titles I pick up (Oh Mount and Warblade how you tempt me...).

So I'm going to be really out of pocket this year... Worth. Every. Penny.

Will definitely be aiming for, in alphabetical order;

Assassins Creed 3
Batman: Arkham City
Dead Space 2
Deus Ex
LA Noire

So, what if I get those at the usual time instead of pre-order or on release, I would potentially be spending anywhere between £150-£200 maybe?

There are bound to be so many more as well, I always end up finding loads half way through the year I want.

Whatever the financial cost, the time I spend on so many great games this year is going to be ridiculous.

Skyrim and ME3 will be the main culprits, of course.

Probably $1800+, as at least $1200 will go into the gaming PC, and the rest will go into varying tastes of games. Hoo boy...

I've promised myself that I won't spend as much money on games this year as last year I ended up spending stupid amounts of money on games that I've hardly played. So,

Dead Space 2
Beyond Good and Evil HD
Batman Arkham City
Uncharted 3

So I reckon £120 - £140 depending on how much Beyond Good and Evil costs.

I'm sure to slip up at some point if something amazing catches my eye, but so far I've been good. Which is hard when Just Cause 2 is under £10 on Amazon.
