How much would it take to make you give up gaming completely?

it really wouldn't take much.i only play WoW anymore. my ps3 is just collecting dust and hasn't played anything other than a movie in over a year. I don't know if its just depression or i've just out grown gaming. Most every game i rent i play for less than an hour and take it back since it does nothing for me.

For me, it depends on what exactly "stop gaming" means. Do you mean no Let's Plays, too? No fanfic? No kink memes? LE GASP! NEVER! If, however, it's just "no playing games yourself", I suppose I could live with that, but I'd better be getting at least $800,000 AUD as collateral for the gap in my life giving up all those hours of Demon's Souls and Skyrim will cause.

I don't see any scenario where that's possible or necessary unless someone physically put a curse on me that I or someone I loved would meet some grave danger if I ever so much as picked up a controller.

Or paid me 10 zillion dollars after taxes.

Going blind. It's certainly be difficult to play without seeing.

Which seems likely in the future, my sight is getting poorer and poorer. I really should do something about that.
....There's that too...

Hmm. note to self, look into corrective eye surgery...

But it's not impossible.

OT: Hmm. Probably the only way I'd actually stop playing would be if I end up having way too many responsibilities.Or perhaps if I lose all of my limbs. If that were to happen I'd try playing with my face. And if that doesn't work, I'll just wait until they make it so that you can play games with only your mind. :)

If someone made me executive produce of Epic Games or someone capable of making a not-shitty TPS.

Then I'd make a good game and never play it.

How would I know it's good? Edge would give it a 9/10 or Yahtzee wouldn't complain a shitton about it.

If they totally ruin it by bullshit motion sensor or stupid touch screen shit. I just want to sit there and play enjoyable games that have some kind of substance to it. For example, not Call of Duty but more of the RPG style games. If they give those up for useless gimmicks, games can go fuck themselves. I will have to start doing stuff in life and be more active goddamnit.

An interesting question...

As for me, I would never give up gaming completety. I certainly will invest less time in it, if I have a good reason (e.g. when I'm going to go to university)... but stop playing games at all? No way, not even for my future boyfriend. It's one of my interests, so part of what I am - if he doesn't appreciate that, he's not the one for me. The same goes for my friends.

The day games become so inconvenient with their DRM, online passes etc that I have to spend literally several hour doing that shit.

OR! just when games become terrible....

I don't think anything will make me give up gaming, because even with all the money in the world gaming is still a unique experience and I wouldn't find a substitute for it. Sometimes I don't game for weeks at a time, but I always come back.

Anything at all that took up as much time and silenced my thoughts just as well as games do.
