How much would people pay to get an early copy of GTA V

So I work at a Retailer and found out that it will come into store on Friday 13th September, 4 days before its 17th September release date. This got me thinking about the hype for the game and I've seen a lot of people posting about how excited they are for its release.

So the question is, do you think people would pay for GTA V (or any game) if they could get it 4 days earlier? or do you think people would be sensible and wait? and how much would you be willing to pay for an early release?.

I must add that I am NOT going to steal/sell the game early, its just a question out of general curiosity.

There will always be some who would pay obscene amounts for it a few days early, but out of the tens of millions of people who will most likely buy it, I doubt they'd make up a significant amount.

How much I'd pay more? Nothing, I am not that impatient when it comes to games, and I am generally quite sensible when it comes to money.

The only times that I have paid more for something to get it "early" have been a small handful of anime that have been released in Japan but did/do not have a release date in the UK. Seeing as they normally come out a year later than in Japan at the very earliest, I was willing to pay more to get them, seeing as I am not a fan of piracy.

A couple of days though? No way on earth would I spend more money, even if it was something I was really hyped up for.

Dunno but it would have to be a lot cheaper than the game retails for as then I can sell it for a profit to someone else. Seriously though just for a few days earlier there is no game I would pay over the eventual retail price of the game for no matter how much I anticipated it.

I would pay exactly zero dollars. Not only does paying extra to get a game a couple of days early not appeal to me in the slightest, but I also have no interest whatsoever in GTA V. So I guess I'm probably not the best person to ask this to.

This. GTA isn't even a good sandbox game to me. Sandbox games are supposed to have missions designed to beat them in numerous ways like the 1st Mercenaries. Watch_Dogs looks way better than GTAV because the game looks to be doing exactly what a sandbox game should do. Plus, I don't like Rockstar much at all, the last good game they made in my opinion was over 10 years ago and that was Midnight Club 2.

Nope, not me. I'm sure the are people who would pay top dollar for first pickings, but I'm not particularly interested in the franchise, so I'm probably going to wait for a price-drop or maybe pick up a secondhand copy should I cross one.

When it comes to game franchises that have an absolutely ridiculously huge following like GTA, people would pay top dollar. If I were to guess, I'd probably say around $50,000, but even then, I don't know, there are some crazy people in the world with a ton of expendable cash, so probably more.

I wouldn't pay any extra since I can wait a few extra days and because I remember when somthing like this happened with with Modern Warfare 3. I think what happened was a few people payed like $1000 to buy MW3 days before it came out and Infinity Ward caught wind of this and had their various Xbox Live/PSN/Steam Accounts banned from playing the game. It was quite funny in the end since none of the people realized the servers wouldn't be online yet and that even if they were no one else would be able to play, so basically these people payed $1000 for a coaster.

I tend to get them early but I don't pay any more.... nor would I. I have enough of a backlog to not need to get it early.
