How much money would you pay for the perfect videogame system? (In before, lul wut PC 4 lyfe 'tards fill the topic.)

I mean the absolute perfect gaming centered machine. All of it's resources and power all put into games, no extra shit for movies, internet all of it into downloading, playing and maximizing games, for sake of argument lets also say the games that come out for it are also all perfect games in their genres. The graphics are perfect and will never age, the controls are flawless, their are no bugs, no Red Ring of Death and no chance anyone could hack your information.

Yahtzee would both cream and shit his pants at the system/games, K? Noah Antwiler, AKA TheSpoonyOne would actually like them, they would get 10/10's from Angry Joe and his Badass seal of approval. The Nerd wouldn't be angry anymore.

How much would you pay for a Game? For the system?

Really, what is a fair price for a perfect 100% flawless, timeless videogaming device?
If it were perfect, I wouldn't have to pay for it!

If it were forever able to play every game flawlessly, then probaby $10,000. No doubt over my lifetime I will spend an awful lot more than that on systems that are far, far from flawless. You could probably sell it for a billion to Sony if such a thing existed anyway as it would represent the greatest technological achievement perhaps ever made.

Um ... perfect = free :p
So I would not pay any amount of money for a perfect system, that's ridiculous.
EDIT: Shit, ninja'd.

Without any ability to be used as a movie player, and no internet features beyond gaming? Sorry, that's not worth more than $100 to me. Now if the manufacturer sets it up so that homebrew is encouraged, I might be willing to give it a shot for up to $200. If I were going to spend more money than that on an entertainment product, it would either be a new PC or some major upgrades for my home theater system. As much as I enjoy them, videogames really aren't worth all that much to me, monetarily speaking.

Assuming that it would never be replaced, would never break and would never be obsolete then fuck it £1000 - £2000. Easily how much I have spent on gaming in my life time and everyone was flawed in some way

Eh, $300 bucks. That's cheap for a runaway economy. Understand, I love the PS3 and all, but $500 was really nuts. I think we can agree that setting the bar lower than that is reasonable for people nowadays.
I'm with FalloutJack. $300. well, since it is perfect in every way, I'd be willing to bump up to $400...but that's my top limit. The games themselves, they would have two prices. $50 for games that are 20+ hours. $25 for games that are shorter than that.

The perfect system is at a reasonable price, or it can never be considered perfect.

(And don't tell me about what's cost-effective or not. It can't be perfect if people can't afford it.)
A systems price doesn't guaruntee quality. How much did the Sega CD cost? the 32x? The Atari Jaguar? The Neo Geo? Did the prices have any effect on the quality of system? If I paid five or five hundred dollars the systems would be the same, Price doesn't affect how good or bad a system is, but it can be indicitive.
Nope! Perfect means perfect. I will not mince words here, folks. If you wanna use the P-word, you'd better mean no flaws, which incidentally includes availablilty of product and ability to obtain by reasonable means. Otherwise, I am paying top dollar for a VERY GOOD system.

(Sorry, but this caught my philosophical edge.)
Just humour me here, you already broke the thread.

Surely your argument implies that you would expect it to be free?
my argument for perfection has to follow through for the company as well. We don't want it to go flipping bankrupt and lose all the production of games and all.
